One of the best botanical gardens I’ve seen. There is something every where to see and the greenhouses are really exceptionally presented. One of the best things to do in NZ

As far as local botanical gardens go, this one is great. If you're in to just quiet, peaceful place to stroll around and smell the roses, look no further. It's free. There is one building that has special exhibits which costs $15. The cafe/visitor center nearby is also great.

One of the best botanic gardens I have seen. Beautiful! You need to sit down with a book an enjoy the space and the flowers.

Great place to relax and take a stroll. Very peaceful and well kept. The sun was out, beautiful Sunday morning. What more could you want. Take your time! Enjoy the fresh air.

Wonderful place to recharge your batteries.
Thank you to all the staff who were amazingly helpful. I was on crutches and they had a powered mobility scooter available so that I could still visit the gardens with my family. Everything was accessible and we had a thoroughly great day out.

Such a beautiful place all year round. Grounds are kept immaculate. Great for all age groups where you want to sit & have a picnic or a nice relaxing walk.

Beautiful by any international standards. Very accessible with kids play area, New Zealand section, rose gardens and more. Highly recommend the indoor gardens / greenhouses (look for the old buildings in the middle of the gardens. They're easy to miss as they look a bit like they might hold equipment for the care takers)

An oasis in the heart of Christchurch. Amazing variety of vegetation. Huge trees adds to the mystic feel. Beautiful rose garden with more than 100 species. Nice play area for kids. You can visit here just for a jog or could spend an entire day reading a book under a tree. Simply beautiful

This is a peaceful park in a concrete jungle. Various ducks and waterfowl inhabit the lakes nearby the botanical garden. Bikes are not allowed to be ridden here but there are bike paths on the circumference. This garden contains plants from all over the world, including a California Sequoia or Redwood. The Rose Garden is a highlight, drawing honey and bumble bees to its varied blooms. The conservatory next door is a great place to warm up on cool rainy days and has species from around the world.
