One of the best places in Christchurch, absolutely beautiful and well maintained.
Part of a prebooked party of 24. All afternoon tea(prebooked). Reservation at 12.30. Order taken at 1pm. Food delivered at 1.30pm, unfortunately our tea arrived at 2.10pm. They said it was because they were busy and the coffee machine was busy. This was tea.Normally when you order afternoon tea the food and the tea come together. The food was OK but on a big plate with no imagination at all. A doily and a pansy would have made a big difference. We were upstairs in a very large room only decoration was tablecloths . This is a garden. Where were the flowers? Then at 2.30pm there was a deluge of about 30 people into the room which force our party to pack up. Very disappointed at the lack of precision and staff.
the best little park in Christchurch when you want it to be a little more quiet than hagley.
We had lunch at the cafe. Very pleasant service. Food delicious. Disappointed with menu especially when we were told that the ‘High Tea’ had to be ordered 24 hours in advance. :(
Well groomed public park definitely worth a look if you get sick of hagley park.
A beautiful wooded garden setting with a river running through.
A historic homestead, which is restored to perfection, after the earthquake in Christchurch. Well worth a look.
Beautifully decorated great food and wonderful staff. The grounds are exceptional.
Had boutique high tea. Lovely service and brilliant food. Strongly recommend
Had lunch today at Mona Vale with my grandparents. The scenery was wonderful. The service at the restaurant was OK. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. Quite disappointed the bread was very dry and I didn't feel like it was worth the money. Coffee was pretty good. The scenery was definitely the highlight!
