From the parking area, the hike is roughly 20 mins one way. It was worth the short walk. The water is soooo greenish blue!! Spent sometime here to relax and take photos.

Stunning Crystal icy blue colour! Must go place . It’s too freezing to have a swim in Oct, but maybe fine in summer time

Not really special. No pools but a glacier river with "blue" water. Nice, that's all.

Not as blue as seen online, don't be deceived. A nice place to stopover on a long journey however nothing magnificent. The river carries on downstream so it's not the only place to view the blueness. Only a short 15-20 minute return. There were lots of sand flies that like to bite you so bring some insect repellant along if you want to have a nice picnic at the rocks.

We stopped here whilst driving from Franz Josef to Lake Hawea. Doesn't look much from the side of the road, but it's well worth getting out of the car and following the track down to the pools themselves. Couple of great little bridges that cross over the water, with some great views of the mountains as well.

A short hike to the most beautiful grotto. A bridge spans the pools, great for photo ops and apparently jumping to the pools below.

A quick place to stretch your legs if you're driving around the south island. It's only about a 15 minute walk to see the blue pool. (Don't bother looking for more pools, it's just the one). Stack some rocks on the river bank and then move along to Wanaka. It's ok, but not a must-see

Nice walk, very accessible which leads to a bridge and very blue water river. Plenty of space on the parking. If you continue straight after the bridge, you can access a very long walk, pretty difficult so be prepared.

Cool little walk. Bring bathers for a swim or jump off the bridge for more adventurous people

It is a great place to walk and stretch your legs between Wanaka and Fox Glacier. Be careful with sand flies - got bitten and now have swollen hands! It is possible to jump from the swing bridge to the pools - only for brave ones though as the free fly duration will be around 5-10 seconds
