We visited here during October school holidays. Unfortunately due to renovations indoor dining was closed with only outdoor tables provided. The grinding sound of the drop saw ruined the ambience a bit. There is no shade by the outside tables so make sure you wear sunscreen and a hat. Food portions were great. We ordered a burger between the two of us and a scoop of chips, which was cooked to perfection and so delicious; we both walked away full as a goog. There is an enclosed playground just a stone throw away and a convenient store next door. Perfect location with stunning postcard views.

Amazing! Great service, great food and we're open when it was really quiet and Elmo's places were shut.

The outdoor eating area needs a real good clean up old bird poo on all tables and not once did we see waiter waitress with a cleaning cloth in there hand?

We visited in May, and overall the food was very, very good, in fact excellent. The portions were also very good, and we felt it was great value for money. We had a range of items and everyone loved their meals. 5 stars to the chef. The only reason for 3 stars, is it was absolutely freezing in both dining areas. The fire was on, but it was no where near enough. The staff were aware but nothing was done and there were no apologies, a promise that it would heat up but it didn't - it certainly needed extra heating. This was echoed by other people dining, and one couple left because it was simply too cold. If the room was warm, this would have been the perfect dining experience.

Do not eat here. Terrible service, very slow and food all lukewarm. Nothing else to add. The coffee is ok if you just want a drink.

Food took quite a long time. No smoked salmon when we were there. Was offered fresh salmon as a replacement, which I agreed to. My food came with salmon and tuna Also, the serving size of the eggs Benedict was quite small for what I paid.

Closed Monday and Tuesday. We attempted to have dinner on Wednesday. We ordered and paid for the lamb and fish main meals at the checkout counter even though we planned to dine in their main dining room which was completely empty. A few people were seated outside.
We waited 45 minutes. They appeared to have forgotten our order as other people we saw enter the restaurant were served their meals first. After 50 minutes, we asked about our dinner and were told that it was on the way. Fish was barely lukewarm and lamb was not cooked through.

Pricey, poor service, poor food! If you're in town which we were for three days, GO TO: Beached Whale next door or Eco resort up the hill for amazing vegetarian.

Ate at this cafe a few days ago and the breakfast was good. Returned and ordered the same and received virtually no salmon with meal. The excuse offered was that they were running out of salmon.Extremely disappointing as we had made a special trip. Should have been advised prior to ordering.Manager pleasant but did not understand our gripe. Not recommended unless you are willing to accept the risk that what you order may not be what you get.

My 2 stars are for the amazing coffee I had, and the nice staff that were running the show at 8am during a busy Waitangi weekend..

Management surely need to attend to the needs of their stressed out staff. I know from experience that two people, 50 customers, order upon order and a line of people at the till is very hard to do. I felt bad and wanted to help.

We ended up waiting a total of 7 minutes for our coffees, and 42 minutes for our food. Our food came out at different times and was cold. My eggs which are scrambled were very runny. It looked under cooked. This was disappointing.
