  A lovely place with nice view. Brilliant pie, coffee. One of my favorite Cafe. Highly recommended. 😋🌹🌿

  Yum food and friendly service. Coffee needs some work (nice they took it off the bill 👍)
  Atmosphere very relaxed and the view of Rangitoto from the back deck is great.
  Being ‘family-friendly’ meant it was noisy w kids but not too bad.
  Staff uniform shouldn’t include those thin leggings that go semi-opaque when stretched 😬
  Overall good if you need a relaxed cafe to take the kids and I’ll be back to check on the coffee 😊

  I really enjoyed this little hole in the wall. Pleasant friendly staff that are never far away. Exceptional Spiced Chai - the best I have ever tasted and delicious desserts. I cannot wait to try a main course there.

  Absolutely love this place! It is extremely chilled and friendly. All the staff are so attentive and really go out of their way to cater for all needs and dietary requirements. Great family atmosphere and the food is super YUMMY! Would highly recommend for anyone especially with children.

  I meet with a Mums and Bubs group every week and we try out different family-friendly cafes around the Shore. We specifically decided on Armadillo as it boasts a family-friendly atmosphere. It was a particularly special occasion too as one of our group is leaving overseas and we were saying good-bye to her. The experience was awful! There was one staff member in particular we felt was out to get us. She was incredibly rude through-out our entire visit and kept making demands on us which we kept complying with (like moving tables twice and moving pot plants that the kids were looking at) but it was never good enough. We have small children and try to be as accommodating as possible by cleaning up after ourselves and making sure they're behaving, but, with small children, that's not always possible. However, other family-friendly cafes are always so helpful and offer solutions (highly recommend Windsor Park Cafe). With Armadillo, it was obvious that the staff wanted us to leave despite our business. That's ok, they've got their wish, I will never go there again.

  Food and service was decent, prices were reasonable, however I was put off by the woman who greeted us as we came in. Very unapologetic about the fact that they had a large booking and the only table available was outside. Word for word,
  "Oh, are you wanting to eat here? Well, we have a large booking today, so the only tables are either the back deck or outside actually the back deck is full, you have to sit outside". By the way, it was raining.
  Very rude to be honest. However, the other staff made it a bit better, and a very friendly family were welcoming enough to let my partner and me sit with them.
  
  May give it a second chance, but the first impression is hard to shake.

  Always good food, both counter and menu food. Choc fish milkshake is a goodie. And the kumara rosti. I could go onNice to sit out on the balcony too
