Good service. Good food. Bit too expensive.
Arancini balls plus salad are tye very best!
Quick service in a busy cafe! Good coffee.
Won't be returning. "tea" was a syrup mixed with hot water, bacon was limp, pale and bony. Food came out at different times for our group. Pancakes and French toast were alright but the FOH person was nasty and cold. Overall feel of the place has changed. We will be staying away now, what a shame that this Cafe doesn't reflect the beautiful surroundings of hobsonville point anymore.
Only been in for a coffee when they were closing but it was good. I'd like to go back and check more.
It's a great location, and the food is ok, however we always seem to compare with years ago when the quality of food and management were a notch, or two up.
Good coffee
Good food and wide selection
Fast service
Easy parking for the bike
Efficient service and tasty food at reasonable prices as well as good parking.
I really enjoy coming here. The coffee is always good, and piping hot. Service is good. A lot of people moan about how they have sold out of a lot of menu items, but isn't that also a good thing! Show's how good it is and how many visit. Its always busy when I go there, even midweek.
Even though the place was packed with people from activities in the nearby park, service was friendly and efficient, and the coffee and muffins I ordered were very good. I did notice a fly in the display cabinet that the staff seemed not to see - again, they were flat out. Overall, pretty good.
Food is okay, bet service pretty flakey, but not many alternatives yet. Last visit they got one pastry item out of four wrong, didn't realise because it was supplied in a closed box. I also had to ask for my change, which was kinda odd.
We were served fairly quickly and meals were of a good standard. Changes were accommodated without hesitation, IE substituting fried eggs for poached eggs. Orb Coffee was good but as another reviewer pointed out they don't do bowls so we ordered ours in a takeout container which was bigger than the cups. Outdoor tables are great. Worth the drive to come here and to see the massive development taking place including several new cafes nearby. Catalina appears to have changed hands from the founding owners but the new owners have certainly kept up the standard in our experience
I would give this place a 0 rating if I could. Came here with 2 friends and waited an hour before food was served. For the price paid, it was not reflected in the food quality. We initially ordered burgers but we're told many items were not available, even though they had a large menu board. We settled for eggs Benedict after being told that's all they had left. The bacon was precooked and cold, eggs were warm and the bun was slapped on the plate cold. A very bad cafe experience with unapologetic staff. Over priced for what you get. Hopefully they use this review to up their game.
I would have loved to give them the feedback directly but they did not seems interested in customer service but more about ringing the money through the till.
Terrible service and average food. We went for brunch, waited an hour for the food. No water offered, no apology for the wait. Our 3 meals arrived separately after waiting an hour. The pancakes were cold and like cardboard, McDonalds are better. The eggs were almost cold and everything else was just average. Our empty coffee and tea cups were not removed when the meals eventually arrived. No apologies, no checking to see how the food was. Will never go again. What a shame as its a lovely setting in a prime spot.
