Great Latin dance on Friday evening. Learners made welcome. Only down side is often some drinking allowed on the dance floor.

Loved the food! The ambiance was beautiful and the lady that served us was very friendly and helpful! Would go again if we had more days in Christchurch! I highly recommend it!

Food, service O.K. Very dark theme park / Disney feel.Traditional Mexican style food but nothing special and ready for a revamp.
The graffiti in the toilets was an interesting read.

Great selection of authentic Mexican cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious and we felt it was quite reasonably priced, with good sized meals which left us feeling very full by the end.

My s/o and I have been in NZ for about a month now traveling from America and have been in desperate need of authentic Mexican cuisine. Nothing else we have tried has even come close, so I was skeptical to try yet again. SO THANKFUL we did!!! When I entered and saw Tapatio and Cholula on the table I started grinning from ear to ear. This was absolutely authentic Mexican food. You can taste the pride from the chefs serving you. The owner was so friendly and you can tell she loves her customers. We cannot wait to go back and try more!!!

I moved here from America and have tried a number of "Mexican" restaurants only to be disappointed. Alvarados, however, was authentic and flavorful and made me feel like I was back home at my favorite local Mexican restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Will definitely be returning here in the near future.

I lived in Austin Texas for a year and visited Mexico numerous times. This is the most authentic Mexican food i've had in New Zealand. Food was absolutely delicious and portion sizes were large. Their margaritas were great as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Will be going here again many times for sure.
