bad experience, always turn off the wifi. No hot water. A little bit racism, Chinese people don’t go here.

A proper hostel and campsite. The owner make u feel like family. If you r looking for a hostel that looks like a hotel, this is not the place. Although, if you prefer a place to gather around with other backpackers, this is for u

In the first place, this Lodge seems to be a bit crazy. Graffitis everywhere, old shoes hanging down from the ceiling, rooms with funny sheets and blankets (on my pillow was pocahontas) But After a short time I felt really good.
The owner and his wwoofer Do a great job. They provide a lot of Information about Tongariro and all surroundings. Absolutely amazing people!
It is a relaxed and alternative spot but you will definitely enjoy it!response / report this review -

Initially, upon seeing the place we felt a little apprehensive about staying here. Fortunately for what this hostel lacked in tidiness, it more than made-up with friendliness. Really enjoyed the conviviality of the other guests and Ian, the manager. And if you don't mind paying less for run down accommodation, A Plus is more than adequate. Only complaints is from Miss 11, whose bunk squeaked every time she moved!

Really nice made for backpackers Not tourist love the paintings done by travellers on the inside and outside walls and flags on ceiling and hand drawn map of the world I'm car camping perfer but really nice rooms with paintings on walls as well has a hammock and pool table and board games and travel books and big tv with sky and the movie channels Not just basis you get at other hostels I have stayed at Really cosy and chilled place my favourite Hostel in nz so far and only got here today

Ian and Liz, the kindest hosts you will ever meet in NZL. Best place to stay if you want to do the crossing. Ian will help you find travellers for the crossing and you will also meet really cool other people there.
Hostel is a very colorful happy place. Cleanliness of rooms, toilets and kitchen is also good.
Also probably the best prices you can get for rooms in a hostel, especially as BBH member. Had an amazing time in Turangi because of A Plus Samurai Lodge, Thank you!

Berlin Kreuzberg in a nutshell. This place is a must for backpackers in NZ. Very good amenities. The host is legend. Smart and with a good portion of humor.

Ian, the host, is fantastic. The lodge is very homely, with Free Wi-fi, decent room with sink and heater, and an awesome kitchen area. There's also a good community area, with a TV, movies, games, and a fireplace.
