I came to Sadhana yoga and meditation center for 11 days as Karma yogi.

It’s was an amazing experience as it was my first time in a yogi place. Full of diverse activities that I was not aware of before. Such a good discovering !!!

The morning meditation, nasal cleaning and other practices were conduct by Sujita with passion.
The yoga classes were very intense and challenging thanks to our knowledgeable teacher Kaushal.

I met a lot of different people coming from all over the world and I had the possibilities to share ideas and experiences about life, traveling, spirituality and of course yoga.

The karma yogi course is a good opportunity to participate to an affordable retreat, discover yourself through challenges, associative work and other culture.

The staff were very friendly, loveable and smily.

A special thank you for Savita the sweet cook, that made me happy everyday with her delicious and healthy food.

Thank you to Kamal and Prasanna that helped me for the preparation of my special Italian pasta for the team.

    Namaste Vincenzo

After reading the recent review about sadhana I was wondering how will be my stay in the retreat Center as I booked for one month.

I must say that the Center is absolutely perfect and peaceful ! The staff are friendly, polite and willing to help you in anyways. I really don’t understand why people take pleasure into putting negative comments.
Before coming you must understand that a retreat in Asia is not a five star hotel spot as we have in western countries. Most of the retreat have only one purpose learning and sharing. Especially if you choose a retreat with family and ecological values so yes water can be cold as in many places in Asia, but you must understand the system of the solar panels. They are very effective during sunny hours !

Sadhana honor his promise and even more. When you are coming to sadhana you are part of the family. Anu, Kamal and the rest of the family will make sure you feel happy, healthy and loved. The landscape is beautiful and the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing with the Ayurvedic treatment they offer. Massage are always available with Yam anytime with experience and dedication.

The yoga level is very good and as a Hatha yoga teacher I must say that I was impressed by the authenticity of the practice. Kaushal always adapted himself to the class in terms of level or needs. He teach yoga in a very modern and dynamic way but always traditionally as he respects his peers. Always find a way to challenge, adapt, renew and make it fun, useful and understandable for all.

Susita is the other meditation teacher and she is also very knowledgable. Always happy to chat and share her experiences. She is in charge of the morning routine based on stretching mantras Mala meditation, Kriya and Reflexologie. Most of all I must say that her laughing yoga therapy is the best !! It will give you a big smile for the all day.

Cooking is amazing, everything is healthy and organic with a good taste of Nepal. Actually most of the veggies and herbs are coming from the organic garden that they have.
Every single thing in this retreat is made on custom for you with love and passion.

This is a real gentle yogi place for yogi spirit or people willing to discover yoga and meditation with love and authenticity ! Ecologic, organic and a good cleanse with kindness and knowledge. Personally I feel this place is so worthy !! You are even practicing bhajans every day with the full family. Learning how to chant mantras, but also their meanings. Always a good occasion to play Nepalese / Indian music instruments and have fun together in one vibration !!

As they say themselves sharing is caring and it is what they do best !!

Thank you so much for sharing beautiful sadhana family !!!

    Asatoma sad gamaya
    Tamaso ma jyotirgamaya
    Mrtyorma amrtam gamaya

    Namaste Marie !

I signed up for a 2 Day / 2 Night cooking and yoga program, but had to extend my stay once I got a taste of the wonderful program at Sadhana Yoga Retreat.

Each day consists of 3 meditation sessions, 2 yoga sessions (in addition to what they call Karma yoga if you wish to do a little bit if volunteer work), 1 chanting session, 3 delicious vegetarian meals and a couple of tea breaks with the other participants at the retreat. You may also opt in for massage, steam or mud bath (at no additional cost depending on the length of your stay). There's enough time outside of this program to relax, take in the views, hang out in a hammock and read a book.

The teachers are great in incorporating new information / techniques in each session while keeping it accessible for newcomers.

The environment, teachers and staff are the opposite of pretentious. They make you feel at home, with their casual, friendly and cheerful attitude. There is compasssion and humor in everything they do and teach.

During my stay I met people from all around the world spending anywhere between 2 days to 2+ weeks at the center. Extending the stay was a common theme as people felt more and more at home and saw the benefits of the program. There was a good mix of couples, groups of friends and individuals who were often mixing trekking and yoga in their Nepal itinary. If you come on the early part of your travels you are likely to get a lot of travel tips and inspiration from others to shape the rest of your trip.

I remember reading another review before signing up that said "if even a little part of you is interested/curious about this place you should just go". That helped me decide to sign up and I want to pass the same advice to you 😊 Just do it! I have a good feeling you won't regret it.

Note: some of the photos are misleading as there was no pool in the center I went to and also the yard is much smaller than the vast open area you see in some of the photos. It seems the building has changed in the recent years ?

My staying at sadhana yoga retreat is amazing, wonderful and really fruitful days. Beforehand, I had no idea or expecting of that kind of service, environment, hygieneness and results; but when I reached there and I attended in silent yoga retreat, I have amazing experience. What I paid in 5 days, I paid nothing. In my claim, I got best yoga and meditation class by all of respective staffs and teacher in an extra or free.

If you do just one thing while in Nepal - go to Sadhana yoga & meditation retreat!

If even just a little part of you is yearning to do something nourishing for the mind, body and soul - then this is the place for you.

Sadhana literally means practice. Every item on the daily agenda from meditation to laughing to yoga to chanting is designed to help achieve a inner balance and sense of wellbeing - the likes of which I had never experienced before. Being in a beautiful forest overlooking the lake doesn't hurt either!

It's down to earth and you can do as much or as little of the programme as you feel like.

I recommend 5+ days to really get the full experience.

Also: The food is vegan friendly, really tasty and healthy. The yoga teacher is one of the best I've ever had and the meditation teacher has a sense of humour bigger than Nepal.

    Namaste :)

Good place to relax and do yoga.
I stayed 6 days but just be careful if you planned for
3 weeks and you dont want to continue, that there is 30%Penalty, they say that is their policy, although i left 47$ as tip for them.
I am not a Walking ATM plus it was AUGUST Low Season. And any one can interrupt due to family ,health or work reason or simply change his mind or the retreat does not work for him.
I have any relations with the very lucrative yoga business to make false statement.

I loved every single aspect of Sadhana Yoga Retreat Centre. Their program is amazing, the classes are great, the teachers are really good, best Nepali food that I had! It feels like a family and I felt part of that!
I did the sightseeing program and it was a very fun day outside the retreat. We were lucky enough to have a great view from Sarangkot, we visited local temples (where I was the only tourist!) and caves, had breakfast in a local restaurant, and had the boat trip!
After an intense day I was very glad to be back at the paradise that the retreat is and join the activities.
I’m very glad that I decided to go during monsoon season! Actually, it rained way less than I was expecting, mostly during the nights (and it was pretty magical), the places in general were quiet and especially if you are looking for yoga and meditation it doesn’t really matter if it’s raining or cloudy.
    Highly recommended!

I planned on staying in Nepal for 3 weeks and ended up staying for 3 months because I loved everything about this place! The view is one of the best in Pokhara, the food is fresh and delicious, the yoga is top notch, the meditation is peaceful and relaxing, and the people are incredible. I was a beginner to yoga when I showed up and left with a new sense of what yoga actually is and how much it can benefit your life. Kaushal is an amazing yoga instructor. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and it feels like you get a custom session even though you are in a class with other people. Manoj was great at the guided meditations and even better at making me feel completely at home and part of the family. From day one I knew we would be friends for life. Suju cooks the best dal bhat that I have ever had and is always happy and smiling. Anu is also another amazing instructor and always made me feel at home and taken care of. PK always had a smile on his face and was the one I could talk to about anything and always learn a new perspective on life. "Yam gives the best massages in the entire world," I can't even say how many times I heard that. Kali was always there to help me with whatever I needed while trying to teach me some Nepali at the same time. Som taught me how to properly eat with my hands which came in handy haha. And Asanga and Durga (the owners) are two of the most loving and genuine people that I have ever met. Asanga is full of energy and passion and Durga is full of love and peace. It's no wonder why I loved this place so much when the people who started it are so incredible. Overall, Sadhana made my entire Nepal trip worth it and I know I now have another family in Nepal that I will come back and visit soon. If you are thinking about going here, stop thinking and JUST DO IT. It changed my life and after being there for 3 months I saw it change countless other's lives as well. There is something special about this place and the people running it. Thank you all for making such a big difference in my life! I will be back soon! Oh yeah, plus I lost 25 pounds while I was there which is awesome! haha. Namaste! - Chris

I really cannot recommend this place enough! I went on a retreat for 1 week, it was amazing from day 1, the retreat itself is set in beautiful peaceful surroundings about 2 km away from lakeside, although the rooms are pretty basic you have everything you need and if you haven't just ask, it is perfect place to unwind and relax. The views overlooking beautiful fewa lake are stunning and the food is delicious!! Asanga, his family and staff could not have been more welcoming or done more for me. I arrived pretty exhausted form travelling around and left so refreshed and at peace, you can do as much or as little as you like. it doesn't matter how much yoga you know (or don't know) Kaushal is patient and helpful. I am sad to leave tomorrow but will hopefully return as soon as I can! I really would recommend anyone to visit!

Sadhana Yoga Retreat is a wonderful place for yoga and meditation. This place situates far away from crowds and pollution in the middle of nature overlooking views of Lake Phewa. I served and learnt yoga there at Sadhana which was one of the most important time of my life. I really recommend to all to try this retreat of yoga and meditation.
