What a great hike! However, we did this hike in July 2016 during drizzle. Occasionally the storm intensified. Luckily we had an umbrella. Because of this there were few tourists. Do not know if this is always true, or came because the rain. I think we have seen about 10 people during the few hours that we have hiked. Through the rain and mild weather, melting ice caps on the sides of the valley. That gave pretty pictures, but also many tributaries down. This made the river that flows through the valley very wild. At the beginning of the walk, there are a few bridges over water. Later became more boards (instead of bridges) over water. The path was very boggy. Later this was quite bad! Trails were totally flooded and was I think a few centimeters under water. Sometimes wild flood about 5-10 cm deep. We often have to jump over rocks to get over rivers. Even made ouselves a stepping stone to jump across a side stream. There were also walkers back, indicating that it was a no brainer. Trails were drained. But we persevered. Was indeed drained, sometimes even deviated from the path to find a detour. Therefore took the walk to the glacier (from the parking lot) about 4 hours. This also included breaks for lunch. At one time you reach the end point. That's a sign. From there it is dangerous to proceed because stones can fall or break off a portion of a side glacier. Way we did in 2.5 to 3 hours.
View of the glacier is from the beginning of the walk all wonderful and definitely recommended. Very green valley. Very photogenic.
    But hike prepared!
PS: on the road, you can still encounter sheep. Running loose around there.
Anyway we made it and it gave a great kick! Sure glad we did this hike!
