Always a consistently pleasant stay at Scandic Ålesund. Excellent location - great views over the water from the restaurant. Clean rooms, reliable WiFi, comfortable beds, friendly staff: always a solid choice for business travel. If you're looking for a nice water view from your room, don't take the cheapest option as some rooms face adjacent buildings (upper-floor rooms on this side are level with a street). But I would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location and the staff was amazing. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is that the hotel is dates and the parking is less than ideal. The hotel itself is a great place to stay in Ålesund.

Checkin was fast and friendly. Hotel and rooms are modern and clean. There was no mini bar as advertised as they have stopped providing that. There are no tea or coffee making facilities in the rooms. The shower door in room 325 is broken. They claim to be environmentally conscious with their soap and shampoo dispensers but at the same time provide individually wrapped plastic drinking cups in the bathroom. Our room had 2 single beds pushed together which meant we would fall between them unless we stayed on our side of the bed. Made sex or cuddling difficult to impossible. Breakfast was good.

There's always a treat awaiting your arrival. Especially in the winter, it's nice to know you can warm up to a cup of soup when arriving in the Scandic here in Ålesund.
The hotel staff is very friendly and rooms are clean and well maintained. WiFi quality is also very good, streaming Netflix in HD is no problem.

We booked a family room. Very big for a family of four. Additional bed(s) out of the fold out sofa. We came in the off season during Christmas holiday but they still manage to clean the rooms daily. Very friendly staff. Breakfast is the same every day but I am not complaining. Very good quality of food. Wifi is also very good. Love the common sitting area in the lobby overlooking the harbour.
