Interesting tour of all the different ways people were physically tortured in Europe. Fairly vivid descriptions and recreations of pain contraptions with historical explanations and examples. A bit dark, but the name is self-explanatory, right?

Great way of learning the story of Amsterdam and some of the cruelties that happened there.

The Amsterdam Dungeon offers a guided interactive tour through the different historical periods of Amsterdam. It is mainly actors telling stories with minor interaction from the audience. Most interaction is verbal.

They have created a very gloomy and dark atmosphere, which suits the storytelling and the different periods well.

Come alone, with a friend or two or a larger group. You will be sent in groups of around 15 people.

It is a great time with lots of fun, storytelling and occasional jump scares.

So much fun!! I have done it in London and now here too. Book in advance on the day. Last one at 5pm. I bought photo package for between €15-25 really cool photos. Lots of fun !! Goes down 3 stories below ground level great actors and actresses. Free beer or soft drink/water at bar which is really tasty.

Such a cool experience, even for locals. An entertaining way of learning about the darker history of Amsterdam. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Nicely located and you'll be amazed with how large the 'museum' is.

Great attraction, a walk through Amsterdam's creepy history with a lot of role playing with real live actors. Was a great deal of fun but the group was too large and some of the rooms were a bit boring.
Would add more info about real historic events (like in the London dungeon), but overall a great way of spending an hour or so.

This was our second Dungeon (we also went to the Edinburgh Dungeon). It was OK, we liked the Edinburgh Dungeon more.

I liked the decorations and sound effects when visiting the bathroom at this Dungeon more than the Edinburgh Dungeon, but overall the experience was not as good. I would say the prices were pretty similar for the two, but this Dungeon's duration was a lot shorter. We feel like we didn't get our money's worth here.

If we hadn't been to another Dungeon before this one we may have enjoyed it more.

Note: We had a large group of deaf individuals join us and it got a little awkward at times when the actors would be yelling at them and telling them to do things and not catching on that they couldn't hear very well or at all. Maybe they should check for something like this along with their checking of anyone that's pregnant and/or that has back problems.

The Amsterdam dungeon is very boring. You don't get scared even for a minute. Every point of time, we felt now something will happen, but then we ended up with disappointment. Don't waste your time and money, its just very very boring

I love the concept of the Dungeon - a great little scary timetravel gives you an image of the ancient city. Very entertaining but after visiting the one in London and Hamburg I must admit this one is by far the 3rd place. Less "attractions" and no rides.

I've been here twice, once for the Dutch tour and once for the English one. Both were great, but the second time I went with a class plus 30 exchange students from Spain. An actress at the end of the dungeon dropped out of character to tell us, in Dutch, that we had to be quiet. I mean sure, I get that you're irritated, but remain in character. Despite that, it's been two great experiences.

Great show, talented actors & I loved the set design.
I also loved that they interact with the audience and they will pick people several time during the tour and include them in the scene.
The show is funny, not scary though.
Advice: Get the combination ticket ( Madame Tussaud + Amsterdam Dungeon) for a better price.

I loved it.
It's unique.
Wasn't scary to be but girls were scared and even some guys had jumpy moments.

I personally would have preferred to be scarrier but i guess that won't be good for their business.

Anyway it's a must have experience.
Better than all the museum's and arts.

At first I wasn't really excited to go there but in the end it's really worthy. The show is great and indescribable! I really loved it 😊
