There was renovation work going on and whole building was very dirty. I asked for canal view room and I didn't get it. Staff was not so good, I asked to change the room as the first room have paint smell as people were working just outside the room. They changed a room which was like a Dungeon house, locker was broken, carpet was dirty, wall and door was dirty too. Staff was welcoming BUT as soon I told the issues I am having, they was not helping at all. It looks like all of staff people have a script in their mind which they read when someone checked in BUT don't know what to do if someone have complaint. Long story cut short, they said NO I can't have any other room and I can't leave the Hotel and if I do I will not get a refund.
I asked if there is a hotel manager but receptionist said NO, so in other words she said to me, no one can help you (she was bit rude at the end). It destroyed my whole trip and I advise everyone not to go there as it's not worth for what you pay, you can get very nice hotel with under 100 Euro / night in Amsterdam.
This was my fourth visit to the Singel Hotel. Every visit has been an exceptional experience. As with most great organizations, the staff make this hotel the gem that it is; they are friendly and helpful. A generous buffet breakfast is offered with the best brewed coffee I’ve ever experienced in a hotel or restaurant (please never change your supplier, nor brewing method). The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. The location is ideal; the central train station only a five-minute walk away. From the hotel, I walk everywhere (including all the major museums) and found no need to use public transportation.
Good location and great wifi. Room was clean just a little small, but expected. Staff were helpful.
The service was excellent, it really was. The breakfast was nice, the room tidy, clean and sparsely decorated. The hellacious noise from the massive renovations were, however, not welcome. Still, those were mandated by the city. Anyway, would come back here when the noise is but a bad memory.
Nice place. Looks to me like they remodeled recently cause the paint and carpeting look new and smell new. Right next to the canal and got to oversee the water and people . Staff was very kind and easy going . Been bumming around Europe for a week now and been staying in hostels so that could be why it seems so nice but would come back again .
Nice place close to the city center. OK standard and clean.
Awesome hotel situated in a perfect location. Staff was wonderful
Clean and comfortable room with modern decor, spacious bathroom with high power shower head capable of delivering very hot water. In room nespresso machine with 4 complimentary capsules (for some reason all decaf), tv, hair dryer, extra pillow. The room felt a little cold so that daily clothes had to be worn at all time. Very modest but tasty breakfast consisting of breads, pastries, hams, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, cereals, yoghurt, juices, tea and coffee. Apparently you can also get scrambled eggs and bacon on request but that option was never communicated to us which was a disappointing surprise after we finished our meal and overheard other guest being offered it. Overally good and comfortable place with great location but with some margin for improvement as mentioned above. We enjoyed our stay there.
Great service and good wifi but a small room and bathroom
Awesome staff and location is perfect for a good price
Was satisfied with my stay here. Very central, close to the central station. Nice clean room
You can't book only one night and it's not clear when you want to do it by Internet So they charged me two nights !!!
