Awesome afternoon with The Colonel! Seriously, a fantastic tour around the city. Bikes are comfortable and easy to ride - a key consideration for riding on bricks and cobbles. We learned a lot about the city and it’s history and had a great time.
Great time with the cultural bike tour around Amsterdam and Durgerdam! The cheese factory and the view going to the little village were the best. Really cool to see such a small place that still has a lot of history! Could be longer to have more stops and be able to enjoy the day when it's sunny. Thanks for the great time
Myself and 10 friends booked a City Tour as part of a stag weekend.
I messed up the dates and actually turned up on the wrong day!! They were awesome about it and regardless, Captain Gideon still took us out for 3 hours - legend. He was professional, relaxed, took us to some great spots (weather was great) and he showed us some great bars where we stopped for a couple of drinks!
These guys were professional, courteous, friendly and I can't tell you how grateful I was for taking us out - despite me messing up the dates. REALLY saved me in front of my friends and brother!
Great tour :-)
On our first day in Amsterdam we couldn't have found a better way to start exploring the city.
MT was our guide and not only did she educate on us how to ride in the city and not get run over she was full of personality and knowledge.
If we were staying longer we would book another tour and request MT as our guide again.
As with most tours, it really comes down to your tour guideso your results may vary
That said, TAKE this tour if
You're looking for a fun, adventurous & very visual city tour
Do NOT take this tour if
You've just visited & participated in Amsterdam's coffee shop culture!
If you're not at least a casual bike rider currentlythis excursion is not for the faint of heart when it comes to riding in heavy car, truck, tram & pedestrian traffic!
You're looking for an in-depth historical tourdue to the speediness of the tour there's not much time or process, and at times we had a hard time understanding our lovely guide due to language.
Overall, Mike's Bikes is a buttoned up, professional business who take your enjoyment & safety seriously, so you're in good hands.
Saddle upyeehaw!
We just came back from a tour with Patrick from Mike's Bike Tour. What a great group activity! The service was on time, the bikes were in in good shape, and comfortable to ride. Do arrive early as you may need to go to the grocery across the way to by lunch if you didn't come packing yours with you. You will make regular stops along the way so it is an easy ride. Don't worry about the weather! It always rains in Amsterdam so if it is sunny your tour will be amazing! The guide is very friendly and really made a point to make sure ea h person felt very attended too. I'd take this tour again. The group is actually small 12-13 people so it was easy to stay together.
We were in Amsterdam for 5 days and did the bike tour on the second day of our trip with Colonel Sanders, which was fantastic! He explained SUPER useful tips about biking in this city which really helped us when we rented our own bikes. His tour was informative, interesting and funny. He waited for everyone and made it a pleasant and interesting experience. I am not the best biker myself but I found the bikes sturdy and did not feel in danger at all! When we came to rent our own bikes, they were very nice and relaxed, so we did not feel extremely rushed. I would definitely do a bike tour with this company and rent from them again.
Would really recommend Mike's Bikes!
I love mikes bikes! Was there last week and had a tour by the amazing Matthias, he was real but passionate about the city. No better way to see the beautiful city then buy a bike, you can see a lot but enjoy it along the way. And really great prices too! Friendly folk. Went back twice in one day to rent a second time. Do recommend!
Excellent staff, very helpful with any info you need In my opinion best prices in Amsterdam. When you rent a bike you get a "no matter what" insurance which is not an option in other bike rentals. Recommended!
Had the most delightful tour of Amsterdam today with Daniel. Really enjoyed the fun bike ride through the city peppered with cool nuggets of info and history. Super fun! Don't miss it. I was jerked around by another company and would tell everyone to stick with mikes!!!!
Awesome tour through Amsterdam and out into the country. The guide was knowledgeable and pretty funny. The only downside was the whole group was jockeying to be near the front to hear what he had to say; it got kind of cutthroat to be honest.not really the tour company's fault though haha
Went on the city guided tour and it was brilliant! Had Daniel as a guide and he was very informative and helpful and entertaining.
This sort of tour is one of the BEST ways to get familiar with riding in amsterdam and we felt confident afterwards.
Would only recommend if you are a moderately competent rider
We had the pleasure of doing a private bike tour with Pete. The tour took us through the countryside and we got to discover a side of Amsterdam away from the touristy areas. We got a highly tailored experience with our party of 4. Our guide Pete was super knowledgeable and took us to a farm, a windmill brewery, and showed us a variety of cool things in the countryside. I would highly recommend doing a tour with this company, even more so if you can spend a little extra to get the custom private experience. It really is worth it, as we saw another big tour group behind us going a bit slower, probably having to miss some of the sites. The countryside tour is neat if you want to see a different side of Amsterdam that isn't really advertised. 30 minutes out of the city you'll see some of the most beautiful fields, and learn about farmers and the flow of water into the city. Thank you Pete and Mike's bikes.
