It was super clean, friendly, quiet. Great location n free secure parking. Excellent breakfast of either pancakes or Gallo pinto, juice n coffee..Nice pool, relaxing hammocks n rocking chairs. Free WiFi. Very kind n helpful owners.

Great clean hostel with breakfast included - close to the centre of town and beach but just far enough not to be too loud from all the bars. Beautiful dogs come as part of the package!!

$20 for a dorm bed with 16 people. Decent hotel, but this is the most expensive place in all of the Americas.

This place was our only choice on New Years (poor planning on our part). The toilets were constantly plugged and the dorm room was overly packed. This was overpriced for what we were receiving. The owner (woman) was extremely rude when we arrived and very unwelcoming. The people staying here made it a fairly enjoyable stay although I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Good experience here - Spanish speaking staff (perfect opportunity to practice your Spanish:) - very helpful, welcoming, and friendly. We stayed in a private room with a private bathroom for $25 (for two of us) and it was a perfect little room! Very quiet on this side of the hostel despite reading a review saying it might be noisy. However, SJDS itself is a party town, so obviously you'll still get your party focused people. Nonetheless, I would stay here again. Breakfast included, and it was great! Eggs/beans+rice/fruit/bread/tea or coffee. Also they have a small kitchen for guests. Good value for your money and I would recommend! I did hear about an experience with bedbugs in the dorm, but I have seen this as a common problem with many hostels and at this point I ALWAYS check bedframes for bedbugs before I sleep in a hostel bed. You should too;)

Good option close to the beach and for budget people. Do expect crowd/party people at night, so maybe hard to sleep. Breakfast included was really good!
