  I dont like leaving my passport with the front desk and even with a credit card they made me leave my passport not just a picture, not just the number.
  Now it's time to leave and there is no one at the front desk from 730 to 815 I have been trying to get my passport back and first they told me someone would be here at 8 now they are telling me 830.
  
  This is un acceptable and I would not recommend anyone stay here. If you have a plane to catch good luck checking out on time.
  I'm furious.

  We stayed in the small 'surf' building of Hostel Pachamama. When we entered, they wanted take our passports for the duration of our stay. We rejected that and offered to pay a deposit. Only after a long discussion they accepted that, but they made clear they didn't appreciate it. Our room looked okay, but there were stains in our sheets. And they don't have spare sheets if one gets dirty. During our stay the personnel wasn't very friendly, they often didn't greet back if we greeted them. But the location is nice and the balcony as well.

  When you get to San Juan there's no escaping it: Sunday Funday. When we started of at hostel Pachamama (they organize this overpriced pub crawl) it was all good fun and the boozing and party were amazing. Then we went by foot to hotel Anamar. The party there was pretty good as well. But after a few hours of partying we wanted to grab some food and go with a taxi to the Naked Tiger hostel. The entrance was crowded with people waiting for the shuttle, but we wanted out and grab something to eat before we went to the naked tiger. Then we felt like sheep. Literally nobody was willing to let us out the hotel, we were forced to wait in line for the shuttle we were forced to to take. Talked to several people but no luck. They even wouldnt let us get on the beach without ripping our sunday funday bracelet of our wrists ($30). I got angry why the hell would you force me to be here if I just want something to eat and take a taxi later?? The more I thought about it, the more crazy I got in my head. I paid freaking $30 for a bracelet and you wont even let me leave the perimeter to eat and take a cab??? Just put my 30 bucks to waste like that? Absolutely insane It was like the maffia telling you to take the shuttle or quit your night. If that isnt a tourist trap, I dont know anymore. Please, please make sunday funday a funday once again and dont be so stupid about people wanting to enjoy their basic human rights such as freedom. It cost me $30 but I hope the people reading this will know what they are about to get in to if you want to be a sheep, go ahead.. if you want to decide for yourself when and where you are going after paying $30, please leave a comment as well. It made my sunday a deception, but I'd rather be honest and straight about it instead of let people having the same bad experience.

  Nice party @ "Sunday Funday". Staff was a bit rude during the ticket sell but at the party relaxed again.

  Fun party hostal. Is good for Sunday funday as u get a half price ticket and can mix your own drinks on the down low while you are still there. The hostel is like a fun bar you go to when you wanna have a sick night it's not probably the cleanest place I've ever stayed. There is a free all you can eat pancake breakfast which is nice! We all had a fan in the 4 bed dorm which was nice. If you stay 5 nights you get Sunday funday for free so if you are attending Sunday funday it's definitely worth your while to stay to save!

  I have never stayed here, but I have partied here. It gets very busy on Sunday fun day and beer pong nights.

  If you travel with your own vehicle, don't stay in Pachamama! You'll be charged 100 córdobas per day just because Staff is somewhat friendly but not good enough, the free breakfast you have to go on and do it by yourself and the WiFi works sometimes. Don't expect towels, shampoo or soap in your room, in order to get the towel you will need to leave a deposit of 100 córdobas and they'll give you back just 80 because of the laundry. Other than that, the room is comfy and the place too.

  Sunday Funday is worth the price of your looking good to party and you won't find a better party for travelers in town. The sad part, it only happens once a week.

  I dont remember when I received such a bad attitude from a business.
  
  After I checked in the owner told me that the air conditioner works only at night , in a private room.
  If I don't want I can leave.
  Talked to me like I am one of his employees​
  Then he asked for the passport.
  I was sure he wanted to copy it, but apparently they hold all the passports of all the guest as a deposit!
  that way if anything​ happens he can ask for any amount of money or you don't get your passport back!
  I told him that I don't leave my passport with no one and it's not legal to ask for it.
  He told me leave then.
  So I left , but I promised I will share my experience.
  
  its all about his attitude, treating his customers with no basic respect.
  There is plenty of other good hostels in the city,
  I would recommend to avoid this one.

  It's a good party hostel, pretty central in town and the people who work here are very nice. It gets pretty loud obviously, but can't expect much else at a party hostel. It's ok for Sunday Funday, but dont think I'd stay otherwise

  Classic busy popular hostel, good to meet people, chill but maybe not the quietest place if that's what your after. Sunday fun day, worth it.
