As a result of our stay at Morgan's Rock, one of our party contracted nine varieties of parasites and salmonella resulting in a gastro-intestinal bacterial infection and acute kidney failure.
We have notified Morgan's Rock and were completely blown off. We understand that traveling in the third world it is always a risk. But were alarmed when Morgan's Rock disregarded our concerns which speaks volumes to how much precaution they are taking in terms of prevention.
There are so many beautiful places to stay in Nicaragua. Cross Morgan's Rock off of your list.response / report this review -

My girlfriend and I travel down to Nicaragua for roughly week and a portion of our stay roughly 3 days was at Morgan’s rock. From the street the eco lodge is not even visible and is probably still a good 10 minute Drive past the guard gate into and through the forest to the waters edge. Very very secluded. When you are first met you immediately get the feeling that this is a very small, intimate and service oriented lodge. We are met with fresh coconuts and given an immediate tour of the property and then brought over a cool hanging bridge to what was honestly the most amazing room I have ever had in all my years of travel.
We stayed in unit number six which is high up on the hill with a king bed and additional outside bed swing fully open to the air and outdoors overlooking the water. There are no windows just screens and you fall asleep and wake up to the wind and the waves crashing every day. The bed we will say was very comfortable at least for us and believe it or not they have this very cool air conditioning system that was just above the bed. I’ve never seen anything like this before and especially in a totally open environment outside this actually worked well.
The beach is very quiet and very secluded and also very clean. You have free use of the boogie boards, surfboards etc. and you can have lunch either in the dining room or on the beach at the bar.
We did find that the drinks and the food we’re expensive costing roughly $150+on average for two people for dinner including drinks, but the food was always great in the menu was constantly changing. I also want to note that on several occasions they made note that they could make anything that we might want (if they had it) that is not on the menu which they did for me one night at a very reasonable price.
I want room was cleaned every day, we even had a laundry done while we were there which was done within one day and every night after dinner when we came back they had turn down our bed.
The staff is always friendly and courteous constantly saying hello whenever we passed anyone. As far as on site activities they do have some tors that they offer from the lodge but otherwise you would need to probably book something locally in town as this is more of a relaxation place.response / report this review -

Morgan's Rock was incredible! The views were incredible and the service was impeccable! Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a 2 villa suite with our own plunge pool and deck! It was incredible. Each morning you wake up to the sound of monkeys and birds - you truly feel you are in the jungle! The beaches are amazing - and the resort gives you the opportunity to do a number of amazing activities - surfing, day trips to San Juan del Sur, Mombacho, and Granada, and my favorite - going to La Flor the Turtle Conservatory! Everyone was accommodating and the service was amazing! It is a truly unique experience to stay somewhere in the jungle, that is so self-sustainable yet luxurious! You also get to learn so much about the country from speaking to the team, a very unique experience! The hotel gives you the opportunity to be as relaxed or as adventurous as you'd like - which is a really unique and special experience!

I'd rate it 6 out of 5 if I could. Superb experience and exceeded every expectation. Best hotel in Nicaragua and competes with the top internationally. Excellent hospitality.

The energy and atmosphere here are unparalleled. It's everything you need to feel rested, relaxed and energized. Highly recommend staying here or, at least, reserving lunch or dinner well in advance.

This place is amazing. We stayed in Bungalow 13, it had two seperate ocean views. You could hear the waves crashing all night, so relaxing. The staff gave top notch service. Best service I have ever experienced. The views are spectacular, the accommodation's are 5 star +. Plenty of activities or do nothing but relax.
The only complaint is google maps takes you down the wrong road, the signs are not real clear on the direction.
4WD vehicle is advised during the rainy season. The long dirt road is muddy when it rains.response / report this review -

Stayed here only one night to treat myself and absolutely kicking myself in the ass that I didn't plan more time here. I know this is cliche to say but it really is Paradise. Beautiful private beach, amazing activities available (i.e. mangrove kayaking), very friendly staff, super quality food from local sourcing, huge area (property is like 4000 acres), my room was stunning luxury as well! Nothing bad about this place. 10/10 will go back.

My wife and I just returned from our 5 night honeymoon at Morgan's Rock and we're already missing the place. A lot of friends and family were surprised we would take a honeymoon to Nicaragua, but we wanted to experience something different than most couples. After 5 minutes at Morgan's Rock we knew we had made the right decision. Everything about the trip was absolutely perfect.
Morgan's Rock is stunning. The beaches and forest made a perfect backdrop for our honeymoon. The fresh food was so impressive and we always left the table full. The activities we participated in everyday were all great. The bungalow we stayed in was breathtaking. It was all so well thought out and managed.
The number one thing that made our trip great though was the staff. From the management to the security guards, landscapers, farmers, fishermen, and cleaning staff, everyone made our trip what it was. There were always smiling faces and the staff knew us by name. We especially connected with the drivers, restaurant staff, and the guides for our activities because that's who we had the most face to face time with. They all were absolutely wonderful and made us feel so special.
I would recommend Morgan's Rock to anyone because it was such a relaxing, wonderful environment to be in. We made memories to last a lifetime, and I can't wait to return one day with kids in tow.response / report this review -

Love this slice of paradise! Such a beautiful location, the ocean view cabins are amazing. The service and food was excellent. Plus knowing they have moved their restaurant to completely local produce from their farm and close buy farms is such a treat. 100% recommend this place for a luxury stay in Nicaragua.

Words can't describe how wonderful it is to wake up in those bungalows to the sounds of the ocean and jungle. Perfect honeymoon destination. Beautiful scenery, delicious food, relaxing environment and fun activities. Highly recommend the Breakfast on the Farm tour. We have traveled extensively and this was hands down the most hospitable staff we have ever encountered. Highly recommend.

The rooms are great and the beach is empty and secluded. Fans are very low and dangerous, something to be aware, since I cut my finger with the blades when raised my arm, and a hotel staff member mentioned that it happened to other guests.
