Relaxing resort with great staff.
Coral reef diving, yachting, deep sea fishing, awesome beaches, entertainment, music, great food and the spa was fantastic!
I will definitely stay with amresorts in the future.
The hotel is tired, it urgently needs an upgrade to the rooms. The views good, food is excellent in both restaurants. The staff in both restaurants are very helpful and pleasant. Staff around pool good and helpful. Some of the reception staff very good, some not so. They charge top money to stay at this hotel, and it's not worth it. The hotel falls short of 5 star.
We just got back from a short vacation @Villa Rolandi to celebrate my husband's bday. The service and the food are top notch. All the staff is genuinely happy to help and always readily available for any needs guests have. They made quite a few surprise arrangements the day of his bday which made us feel very special. The manager is always around looking for anything that needs to be addressed and He addresses his staff in a respectful and friendly way. Carlos from the pool area was superb waiting on us while at the pool or beach area and on our last day he went above and beyond for us. I will say that the rooms can use a bit more attention to detail in the overall appearance, but then again this is an older property and sort of rustic. It's a very small hotel with limited beach area so if you are looking for a place to go for a walk or things like that this would not work but if you want to relax, disconnect, have amazing views, food and service then you can't go wrong with VIlla Rolandi
We made friends with several guests during our stay. Some were AM Resort club members and others had travelled to MANY other AM Resorts including Zoëtry Punta Cana. It was absolutely unanimous amongst us all that this resort was lacking a lot and that none of us would return. The reviews that we read online definitely contradict our experience and the only conclusion I can come up with is that the resort has paid people to write these reviews.
It is interesting that guests could have such different experiences. I would prefer to go to a resort that is consistently great!
My husband and I have agreed that if we had never been to another AM Resort (Secrets, Dreams, etc) or an all-inclusive, we probably would’ve loved our stay here. But because we know the high standard of other AM Resorts, we were quite disappointed. We noticed several travel agents have travelled there (most likely free of charge) so that they can recommend it to consumers. If we had gone free of charge, we probably would rave about it too. However, we spent what was a fortune to us and were celebrating many things (graduation, birthday, anniversary, etc) and viewed this as our once in a lifetime vacation. It fell very short!!! We would not return and could not recommend this resort to friends
Incredible Resort! Beautiful and tranquil with AMAZING 1st class service!!! The staff will treat you like royalty. A great place to relax and unwind. Very comfortable rooms with great waterfront ocean views. 5 star dinning!!!!! World class food! A must visit resort!
My wife and I just got home from 1 week vacation. We have been to 4 other resorts and none of them compare. The food is amazing!! The resort is awesome and the island has some of the best beaches I have ever seen. We rented a golf cart and explored the whole island. This was my favorite vacation place to date.
Most relaxing place I have ever stayed. This was our 5th trip. For All Inclusive you cannot beat the food. The entire menu is delicious, premium liquors dont hurt either.
Quiet, relaxing beautiful resort. The food and service are solid. The suites are pristine. Views are breathtaking. Can't wait to go back.
Love, love, love this place! Beautiful rooms, private beach, and pools. Great room service and the staff are amazing! Food and drinks brought to you whether you are in your room, in the pool, or on the private beach. Couldn't have asked for a more courteous and attentive people!
We love this place. I'm here with my husband, and it's super relaxing. The amenities are amazing. When they say all inclusive, they mean it. We don't have to worry about laundry or anything. The mini bar even refills. And don't get me started on the people here. They are the most polite, caring, ever. We hope to get the chance to come back sometime.
We just returned home from a week stay at zoetry resort in Isla mujeres. It was spectacular! A very quaint resort with no hoopla-which is why we chose it. It started off with a private yacht picking us up in Cancun and transporting us across the bay to the resort. The hotel staff was amazing and so accommodating. Even though it just has two restaurants (ala carte and 7 course) we felt they were better than any other resort we have stayed at. Hats off to the chefs! The pampering displayed to us was almost embarrassing but we loved it! You will never be left without a drink in your hand and if you leave hungry it is your own fault! The resort highlights wellness, both active lifestyle and eating lifestyle. A very safe island and would highly recommend renting a golf cart to see the sunset and sunrise. The hotel offers a complimentary sunset cruise aboard their yacht that is not to be missed. We met great people while on our anniversary stay and think the world of Jesus and Ponce (who knew our names after one meeting)! Actually many staff members made our stay very enjoyable and memorable. What a great way to celebrate 30 years!
The best hotel I've ever been!
Excellent service, delicious food and a perfect view, The hotel has 35 rooms in total doesn't need more!
In addition, the hotel has a private boat that brings you to the hotel from Cancun and returns you back
My husband and I have been to Dreams and Riu resorts and Zoetry was the fanciest resort we’ve visited yet. Villa Rolandi is clearly an older resort bought by the Zoetry chain. Parts of the resort are new and parts are older but kept in good order. (They did some work sprucing up the resort while we were there but we hardly noticed it. I mention this due to the complaints of other guests about construction noise during the day.) Pictures of the resort don’t do it justice; it’s breathtaking. I believe they are in the process of taking out the hot tubs on the decks and replacing them with outdoor couches which seem to be much more practical. Our deck still had a hot tub but also had a table and 2 chairs. We saw many people eating meals or just relaxing out on their decks- especially on the couches. One of the main things we thought set Zoetry apart from Dreams (which we love) and Riu (which we didn’t enjoy as much) is the food. We’ve never had such good food at a resort. Breakfast and lunch were in the more casual restaurant with a separate breakfast menu. My husband’s favorite breakfast was called “Mexican eggs” which mixed eggs with chorizo sausage. Mine was the scrambled eggs served with refried black beans on the side. Those things mixed together were delicious! Also, the lattes and cappuccinos were much tastier than the regular coffee. Everything we ordered was delicious; also, nothing was spicy. We ate every dinner but one in the more casual restaurant; we especially loved the fettuccini alfredo and the gnocchi with tomato sauce. Oh, and we had the minestrone soup every night; it was that good. The more elegant restaurant only has evening tasting menus which were truly on par with a 5 star American restaurant. We were so impressed with the ambiance and quality of the food. Don’t forget to pack long pants, closed toed shoes and shirts with sleeves for the tasting restaurant (men). The more casual restaurant only requires shirts with sleeves (men).
We took a yoga class, tried paddleboarding and used the gym a few times. Everything was in good order and the staff were eager to assist. Since this is a small resort (only 35 rooms) you see the same staff every day and get to know them. As at other resorts, people “reserve” pool chairs early in the morning so if you’re going to lay by the pool, you may want to do the same as you’re going into breakfast. However, my husband and I only had trouble finding two chairs together once and the staff said they would bring out more chairs though it ended up not being necessary as two chairs were soon vacated (Actually, it was someone who’d been “reserving” chairs since 9am and had NOT YET used them by 3pm, so felt guilty and let us take the chairs. Please don’t be “that guy.”)
Map Chick advised bringing bug spray for certain places on the island, however, Zoetry provided a small bottle of bug spray in the room, so don’t worry about bringing your own. However, do bring lots of sunscreen AND after sun aloe. So many people (including me) got burned and the man who runs the small convenience store off of the lobby charges an arm and a leg for aloe, sunscreen and other toiletries.
Tipping
Of course we spent many hours laying by the pool getting drinks and food from the pool staff. We tipped 50 pesos (about $3 dollars) to each pool staff each afternoon we were there. We also tipped 50 pesos at lunch and dinner, 50 pesos each day to housekeeping and 20-50 pesos at breakfast. It’s my understanding that resort staff rely on tips as part of their income and with the currency exchange, it doesn’t cost much to be a generous guest. We also tipped our Discovery Mundo airport to ferry drivers about $10US each way.
Very disappointing! !!!! No hot water for our ENTIRE trip. 6 days!!!! And the resort did NOTHING to try to accommodate for it. Our hot tub didn't work. And quite honestly I would not have gotten in it. Pretty dated. The 24 hour room service did not answer their phone at night, all night!!
The main restaurant had a good breakfast. Lunch by the pool was pretty good. The main restaurant for dinner was disappointing. The second restaurant had a very very limited menu, most of it being a totally unrecognizable selection. The staff was very friendly. We were a party of 7. None of us would recommend this resort.
A good 4 star but not really 5 star. Has a fantastic 7 course tasting menu restaurant.
