  I just spent a great day birding around Valladolid with English-speaking guides Angel and Ichi. They have access to private Forest land in their Mayan community. We started the early am with Yucatan Nightjar/Yucatan Poorwill and ended the day with a Grey headed kite.
  In five hours, we saw the following:
  Buff bellied hummingbird
  White browed wren
  Greenish Eleania
  Olive green flycatcher
  Green jay
  Black headed saltator
  Olivaceous woodcreeper
  Smoky brown Woodpecker
  Hooded warbler
  Ruddy woodcreeper
  Ovenbird
  Grey throated chat
  Plain chachalaca
  Vaux's swift
  Caribbean dove
  Cinnamon Hummingbird
  Rose throated tanager
  Golden fronted Woodpecker
  Yucatan woodpecker
  Tropical peewee
  Blue crowned motmotnew name now
  Cave swallow
  Melodious blackbird
  Grey headed kite
  Grey collared becard
  Black catbird
  Rose throated becard
  Ferruginous Pygmy owl
  Yucatan Poorwill
  Yucatan nightjar
  Yucatan jay
  Roadside Hawk
  Yellow lored parrot
  White fronted parrot
  Lineated Woodpecker
  
  Both knew the calls of all the local birds and staff responded promptly to all emails. I would highly recommend a night in Valladolidtheir office is based here.
