This was our first visit to Yaya Beach and we loved it. Our first time to Costa Maya too. Those in our group were wanting to get away from where everyone else would go. You have to take a taxi to get there but it was easier than I thought. They area to get there looks really run down but once you step out and look towards the water, wow. We arrived with reservations and it was beautiful. I wished I remember our waiters name, I'm horrible with names but he brought us to a corner part right next to the beach. The day was just gorgeous. It was quiet, the kids had some room to dig and it was nice just to sit and relax. We aren't big drinkers and got the non alcohol package. Sodas, water and some smoothies. The smoothies were good. The water was absolutely blue. You could walk out into the water but really couldn't swim. The cons I would say their was some smell of diesel fuel with the boats going by and the people walking by wanting you to buy something. We just said no politely. I'd go back and recommend this place if you want to get away from the crowd, don't mind just walking out in the water and a smaller area of beach. It is a beautiful location.
The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. The place is beautiful and well kept. The food was great too. I couldn't give five stars though because of the locals walking around trying to sell you things. I understand the club wants to promote local growth, however it is hard to relax on a beach club when you're interrupted every five minutes. Perhaps they could setup a "do not disturb" section for a little more money.
The open bar was nice, but they were woefully unprepared for the number of guests when we first arrived. It wasn't even that many! It took nearly an hour for our first food and drink order. But our waiter was trying his hardest, bless his heart, and things did go faster eventually. Their massage reservation system is a total joke. Avoid! There were several of us "booked" for three o'clock, but only two masseuses were on duty. The 60 minute messages pre-purchased for my husband and myself were actually only 30 minutes each. We had the included Mexican combo platters and some extra quesadillas for our children, and it was okay. Not 5 star gourmet cuisine, but we weren't expecting that. The real highlight, though, was that we thought we were only getting a futon-like sun bed and were actually given a cabana with its own shaded full size table. Perfect for a nap. The water was very calm for our kids because of the reef offshore that broke the waves before they got to the beach. I loved that. Overall, we had a nice time. I took off a couple of stars because of their lack of preparedness and terrible massage system. I would return but not even bother with the massage.
I was surprised by Ya ya Beach! There is a lovely malecon lined with shops and places to eat and drink, a nice beach, and plenty of Oceanside loungers to relax in. Massages are available for very little money, and transportation between the Costa Maya cruise port and Yaya beach is excellent and inexpensive. I went scuba diving with Doctor Dive while my husband relaxed on the beach. There is at least one hotel - we are thinking of returning on our own for a longer stay.
Had to cancel our reservation due to inclement weather. The merchant originally offered to refund half of the purchase price, but then refused to offer any refund at all. I had to submit a dispute to PayPal, along with the email from the merchant to prove they offered half of a refund, before I was able to get the refund that was promised. Given the merchant's lack of willingness to work with a consumer and that they did not honor their statement originally offering a refund of half the purchase price, I would not recommend or trust doing business with this merchant.
Loved loved loved this place! Abt a 10 min cab ride and we almost drove passed it on the street. But once there you know it. White sand, clear water so fun to snorkel. Sergio took great care of us and there are even $20 table messages right there. All you can drink so it's a great deal. Coming into the port go left past the water animals to get to the taxi area. It's not marked bc they want you to go with the flow through the cluster f#*@ of shops which is fine if you want to shop but hot & frustrating when it's so crowded and a maze that sends you in circles
We had a fantastic time and I will DEFINITELY visit again! There were a few notable things that made this visit over the top. Sergio was our attendant. We never wanted for anything while we were there. He kept our drinks coming, the food coming, and was just so awesome to sit and talk with us. If you go there and do not ask for Sergio, you are definitely missing out! He works hard, enjoys his job, and is very very personable! The other thing I really enjoyed about this place were the animals. The dogs that were there made the day. We are avid animal lovers. The dogs were so friendly and sweet and made the experience more like home for us! The only one and I do mean ONLY negative thing I have to say about this place is the amount of people that try to sell you things. It did not ruin my experience and I can over look it though. The owner lady was so sweet. It was a fantastic natural looking beach escape! It was the best ever! Sergio was awesome!
Awesome view, great massage, unlimited watered down drinks. Perfect location right on the beach.
Had a great time there. Beach was clean and beautiful. The staff was very attentive and friendly. Plenty of shaded areas and seating.
This was my very first trip out of the USA.
We fell in love at first sight! We reserved the best package (which was VERY affordable at $44 each person and included unlimited drinks). We had NO idea that we had the absolutely best spot on the beach! When our waiter showed us to our canapy, our jaws hit the floor! The staff was incredible! We also reserved 2 massages and they were fantastic.
We can't wait to go back and there is NO doubt in my mind which beach we want to go back to! Thanks so much for taking such good care of us!
Reserved a spot online a month before coming out. It was easy to find the place, and it was only about half filled. The food was excellent, and the open bar was fantastic. We were waited on by Sergio, and he is beyond awesome. Whenever I needed a beer, he was there waiting with a cold one. There were vendors wandering all of the beach clubs, but they weren't pushy. The beach itself was beautiful. I was worried because there were 6 foot waves at the cruise port, but YaYa is protected by a sandbar that keeps the beach calm and pristine. YaYa was by far the best part of our vacation and we will be back again.
Visited out of a cruise, nice place to go and hang out. A lot of people selling stuff around you so be ready not to relax 100%
Awesome beach club to chill and have a cocktail on the beach. Cocktails are very tasty. The beach beds are comfy and it gives you this perfect holiday in the Caribbean feel.
Friendly staff and good food with strong drinks.
Bought a package before arriving in port and was very happy, it included a combo plate for lunch. We had some issues with seating when we arrived since we paid for 3 adults and 2 children. They wanted to give us a high up platform bed which wasn't going to work for all of us! After chatting for a few minutes they brought over an extra lounger which worked out fine. Kids played the whole time and only sat to eat anyway.
If the weather is horrible, it is nonrefundable when booked through certain venues. The only coverage from a downpour is the bar, which was standing room only.
Despite the weather, we enjoyed our day. Don't forget cash for all the vendors that wander the beach, the cheap massages, or your wait staff!
Beautiful place and the people were nice and would take no for a answer if you didn't want to buy something.
