We visited Villa del Faro in April 2018 to check out the property for possible future vacation plans. The staff was extremely helpful. We got a personal tour of the entire estate. The private villas start at about $165 USD / night and go up into the $300 range. Beautiful pool grounds gardens. Secluded quiet and breathtaking views.

What an incredible place to stay. The owners really set up a little piece of paradise - many different open-air areas, each flowing into the other. The views, design, and landscaping are just breath taking. We found it an ideal, secluded place to relax, where we felt like the rest of our lives were a world away. The staff and owners were professional and friendly beyond measure, and the activities they recommended nearby were more than enough to keep us occupied. Each accommodation is quite different - I'd suggest emailing them to describe what type of experience you're looking for, and they can recommend which accommodation would best fit what you're looking for. We did that, and get exactly what we wanted out of our stay.

Great property, great views, and off the beaten path. Excellent food, and the hosts are excellent. It is a long drive from the airport, but I think it's worth it.

I have very mixed feelings about this place! It’s absolutely beautiful. The photos I saw beforehand did not do this property justice. The view from our room (Bali Suite) was breathtaking and the fresh air/open air style of the room was incredibly relaxing. With all that being said, this place is WEIRD! This is not a hotel. This is a BnB at most, but I would more accurately say this is a private, sprawling estate and you are a guest. I would HIGHLY encourage arriving via rental car if you stay here - it is very remote and without a vehicle you are solely committed to the property as there is nothing else within walking distance. The family who owns the homestead all live on site in various areas. The common areas are open space concept but you are not encouraged to use them at all. The pool is attached to one of the potentially occupied suites so you may be disturbing another couple. Breakfast is included and is served promptly at 9 am- your order is taken the night before. They will knock on your door to ask or just make something random if you don’t give an order in advance. There is no lunch so if you eat often, you must bring your own snacks for the day and drinks (mini fridge was in our room charging for beer/wine/soda). You are not required to stay for dinner but you kind of are pressured to through awkwardness. We avoided dinner at the hotel after the first night- be warned dinner is $45 per person and this does not include drinks (margarita was $12 and two beers $7). I was also asked to buy jewelry from one of the family members on site who hand makes her own jewelry- we snuck out for the day soon after. Also keep in mind they bill 19% tax and 10% gratuity- which was not told to us beforehand!
