By far, the most enjoyable and professionally managed tour we have ever experienced. Patricio, our guide/tour director/instructor was patient, had a marvelous low-key approach, took the time to get to know every individual in the group, and was amazingly knowledgeable about all aspects of the Mayan culture. History, astronomy, mathematics, religion, economy, archaeology, politics, he had facts & figures at his command, and answered every question concisely and completely. If you visit only one site, you should put this one on the top of the list.

Wonderful experience with a fantastic tour guide. We booked our excursion with TripAdvisor and were treated with a great learning opportunity.
The staff at the ruins were all very pleasant and the people selling their wares were easy to talk to and not too pushy.
The grounds were well maintained and no trash or anything anywhere to be seen.
We did see a few monkeys in the trees that tried to pee on us, but we all enjoyed our time.

I learned a lot about the Mayans. Our tour guide was so good to answer questions and explain. The ruins were amazing. About a 45 minute drive from town. Buy some pineapple juice from the locals on the sides of the road. Best juice you'll ever taste.

One of the best excursions we've been on. The bus ride was educational as our guide offered tons of information and items we got to see and hold. The ruins were fantastic and learning about the people who live there was even more fantastic. A favorite part was seeing a wild monkey jumping around in the trees above us. Climbing the ruins was difficult but worth it when you got to the top. Will always treasure this experience.

It's a great place to visit and see what ever is left from Mayan civilization. Good gift options and very clean. There are others places also that you could visit for Mayan civilization bit this is also not bad. Specially when on cruise and this is the only option. If buying suviniors, ensure you bargain as that seems normal.

Such a great experience. The bus ride to the ruins was pleasant and informative. The guide was great, and you'll likely see monkeys and other wildlife while hiking around the ruins.

Amazing experience, went through Royal Caribbean and really enjoyed the whole tour. If you're lucky enough to get Diana you're really in for a treat. She is experienced in the area and really cares about sharing her knowledge with people.

Not the most famous of ruins, but still very cool. Because they're not as famous there seemed to be less people. Our guides were very informative.

Loved this! Really cool to see in person. However, I cannot stress this enough: BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT. It's a jungle in Mexico, and I came back with probably close to 12 bites.

We took an excursion to Chacchoben from the port at Costa Maya. The trip was a pleasant hour drive from port. This Mayan ruin is a treasure. The trails around the restored ruins were easy to walk, even with baby strollers. There are some shops at the welcome area, including souvenirs and snacks.

Enjoyed seeing the ruins. Was disappointed that you couldn't climb the stairs to the top. They are very serious about the ruins not all being excavated. If you want to of the structures, you need to go to one of the other sites. Was worth a visit though.

I highly recommend this tour. We were able to climb on some parts of the ruins. The site was well kept and safe. It's great to see and not too far from the port. The guides are awesome!

Very nice entrance facility and shop/snack bar. The trails are well maintained and there are benches and shade to catch a break. The ruins were very cool, and well kept. The staff and tour guides were very knowledgable about the history of the site.
