It was a great resort. Clean and the little bar by the beach had great food. Very impressed. Kid friendly and had day care options available which we truly appreciated. Most of the restaurants were on point.

We celebrated our anniversary at the La Perla. This is our third year, we love the resort. What makes us return is your staff. Your employees are your greatest asset. While all are friendly and helpful, a few go beyond what is expected: Tatiana ( guest services), Ruben (pool bar), Marcos (beach)..this is the main reason we will be returning next year.

Highly recommend this place! Food and drinks were pretty good for an all inclusive. The service at sunset grill at the pool was poor. All very rude on multiple occasions including them “scolding” me for sitting on my napkin because i didn’t like the wicker chairs on my leg, however, people were sitting on the bar in a bathing suit where you sit and enjoy your cocktail. Manuel on the beach was excellent! Room was very nice and maid service was always done well.

We've stayed at a handful of properties in the area over the years and this place really nails the best of all things we like in an all-inclusive. The right amount of luxury but not too stuffy, great food and drink and the other guests here on the all adults side are fun. The royal service was definitely worth it. Will be coming back again for our pre-Christmas getaway!

Had our honeymoon here in November 2017, and couldn't have higher praise for this resort. Being our first all-inclusive, we weren't quite sure what to expect, but almost everything definitely rose to the level of luxury.

Food was generally good to outstanding , usually winning the most praise for consistency. You will definitely need to make reservations at all the restaurants except for the buffets (you should also get Royal Service if you do decide to stay here and they do that and other things for you).

Staff is always friendly and it felt like everyone went out of their way to ensure we had a fantastic time. The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The beach is fine, though not wide. This space is mostly for lounging, not sandcastle building.

Honestly can't wait to go back!

Book the Royal Service if you can afford it. The heated private pool, restaurant, lounge, and butler service is well worth it. The mini bar in the room was stocked daily with all kinds of goodies. All of the rooms have hot tubs on the balcony/patio. The food was delicious and they have premium liquor at the bars. The nightly entertainment was spot on. The entire facility is well kept and maintained. All the employees were friendly and attentive. The beach was a little narrow but still very beautiful and soothing. I wish I could have stayed longer!

Wow where do I begin. From the moment you arrived you are treated like royalty. Check in was easy and our room was amazing. During our stay the room was always kept spotless and our refrigerator kept fully stocked. Everyone at the resort was so friendly but Paola and Ariadna really go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. So be sure to introduce yourself to these wonderful people.

Food, lots of delicious choices. Only problem I could possibly think of is overeating! We tried most of the restaurants but not all. Food and service was perfect. I could literally go on and on but go see and experience for yourself. Paradisus Playa del Carmen will not disappoint. We look forward to visiting again

Recently visited from 22nd September 2017 to 28th September 2017 with my wife, this place was relaxing and clean with no rush for sun beds :-).
We honestly didn't worry about a thing the whole time we were there, the room was spacious and full of thoughtful details.You do not get tired of fine dinning, each meal is gourmet style standard. Breakfast is more or less the same buffet style each morning, several restaurants in the evening gives you choice.
In general plush hotel with good staff..

Went with my family and finance mid July this year for 4 days. This place is truly beautiful and relaxing. I honestly didn't worry about a thing the whole time we were there. We stayed at La Perla, the luxurious section of the hotel. The room was spacious and full of thoughtful details. They would organize our room twice per day and each time we would get back from our delicious dinners there was a surprise waiting in our room. From chocolates to the hot tub with rose petals. The pool parties were so fun during the day, as well as the open bar. You get tired of fine dinning, each meal is gourmet and there is always appetizers. we had lots of fun activities at the beach, cool parties at night,we didn't even want to leave the resort. going back next year!!

My wife and I spent a marvelous week at Paradisus, La Perla. All staff were wonderful starting with Ivan at reception, Rodrigo and Eduardo at the Grill restaurant, Jorge at beach service, Janett the restaurant Manager, Christian and Juan at the breakfast buffet and lunch. Chef Irvin at the Grill restaurant was amazing and always accommodated a couple of special requests. A very special thank you to Daniela at guest service, she was always so helpful and so professional and always with a smile on her face. Daniela, my wife and I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. We will definitely recommend this resort to anyone that is looking for a top class resort, they really do treat you like royalty. Great family hotel . Great swim up suites . Daycare and activities. Kids pool with play pirate ship and toddler slides. Good food and alcohol drinks all included.
Awesome staff.
The beach had jet ski rentals for a fee

Fantastic vacation! Make sure you visit the spa. Rio Secreto is a excursion you must do, and if your lucky Gonzo will be your guide. 5th Ave is a blast,but be aware you will be approached by people claiming to be your waiter at your hotel ( they see the hotel bracelets on your wrists) just walk away.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Paradisus La Perla Royal Service. Opt for a non poolside room unless non stop techno music is your thing especially on the weekend. Royal Service has its own pool area with great poolside/beach side service.The room was excellent as was the house keeping staff. Our personal butler, Alejandro, made sure we had all that we needed and could enjoy the facilities to the fullest. Avoid the chaotic restaurants in the family area. La Palapa restaurant in La Perla was good for breakfast and lunch and Fernando gave us special attention.
One disappointing item - the gulf bottom is extremely rocky and not good for safe swimming. Too bad as the water was lovely.

My wife and I stayed in La Perla for our honeymoon. Overall, we were satisfied. Everything was clean and the staff were very friendly.

I only had a few complaints:

1. The hallways echoed loudly and we had to stuff a towel under the door to make it quieter
2. Reserving restaurants was tricky, and many were completely booked by the time we had arrived at the hotel
3. The beach wasn't very nice - there was lots of seaweed that caused the surf to look muddy
4. The vegetarian food options were confusing - sometimes vegetarian options were not noted as such and some of the "vegetarian" options were not actually vegetarian.

Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay at this resort!

Excellent accommodations. Only 24 hr food is limited and liquor in room is limited. Outside of room, the quality is top notch. Royal service is variable. We saw awesome butlers while we have not even met our own on day three. I would get for quiet room and pool not for Butler. Would come again.
