I honestly didn't know what to expect and I was a bit scared it would be to touristic. In factnot at all! Very nice building with a well presented large collection of mexican popular art. Very amusing, also for children!

This museum was by far the best one in mexico city and one of my all time favorites. The displayed items were all amazing. They are not historical artefacts but hand made pieces by artists and artisans, all colorful and surreal, representing the local culture. Spare a good hour or two for this place.

I spent at least an hour here taking photos of lovely art from all regions of Mexico. It's something kids would definitely enjoy! Worth the 60 MXN!

This museum has a wonderfully lit gorgeous atrium with beautifully hung art pieces. The art throughout the museum was gorgeously displayed and it had a different layout compared to some museums that have just big cavernous rooms. Overall had a lovely afternoon here!

The way they organized the rooms is great. Some folk art is more interesting than other. There's a room at the end with more modern folk art which I really liked. Sunday's there's free entry. Worth visiting then. It's not too crowded either.

I went with my two kids (7 & 9) after passing the museum several times and peeking at the colorful creatures through the windows. The museum was bright and the exhibits cleverly displayed. Even my kids, who are NOT museum people, were calling me over to point out their favorite skeletons and scary masks and wanted pictures with them. I enjoyed the display of traditional clothing. If you are with young children and a big museum is overwhelming, but you crave a little culture, this could do the trick. We probably spent 45 minutes there going pretty fast and skipping a floor. (PS "La Gloria" right across the street has a good breakfast!)

Discovered this museum walking to another museum. Cost a couple of USD to enter. Very fun and interesting. Very well planned out. The gift shop is very tempting but I recommend using your discretion. There were some things we saw later that were cheaper but not by crazy amounts and you are supporting a museum.

This museum is absolutely amazing! You won't learn much about history but you will see vibrant colors, shapes, and things that only peyote smokers have the imagination to conjure up.
