My second time here. I couldn’t wait to return! I brought a new guest and they fell in love with the charming boutique hotel steps from the beach. Tina (the owner) heard it was my birthday and had a wonderful surprise cake for me!!! I stayed in room 7 the first time and 4 this time, both are oceanfront and overlook the malecon. Mahahual is not for those looking to stay out all night, it’s a sleepy village of warm generous people. I read a review today about the pool and I don’t think we were at the same pool as it was clear as noted in pic. My room was clean and cleaned daily. I will stay here many more times. Thanks for the memories Tina and staff :-)

Didn't sleep here, but when tried to get to the lobby the personal was so aggressive for no apparant reason. So I would advise you to avoid!

Very cool hotel located on the beach. A very cool boutique hotel and a great value. If you like a nice relaxing vacation on the beach in an awesome little beach town, then stay at Caballo Blanco in Mahahual.
I have been to Bali, Australia, Puerto Vallarta, Hawaii and many other tropical locations, and this was my favorite place to be. I am not a fan of big fancy resort hotels and toursity resort traps that are overpriced.
If you are expecting a non-stop beach party like Cancun, Mahahual is not that.
They still party a bit but it is not out of control from what I could tell.
The Caballo Blanco is about in the middle of Mahahual. The rooms are nice and cozy.
Only two slight problems we had was that the Wifi in almost the entire town is a bit hit or miss. Not too bad if you are not needing tondo any work though. And the drains in our room backed up a bit only because of slow draining pipes in the shower and sink. Literally not going to ruin my day or anything though.response / report this review -

Hotel Caballo Blanco is in such a great location. The owner, Tina, is really amazing and a wealth of knowledge; no matter what you want to do or where you want to go, she has the best recommendations. The rooms are beautiful with great views and the rooftop pool is VERY ROMANTIC! :) Very clean and the whole staff is really great! I have spent many hours on the deck/reception area listening and learning all about Mahahual and Mexico Tina's commitment to the community is not only inspiring but also evident by the number of people that come by every day to chat and say hello. The excellence of the hotel is evident by the number of repeat guests she has!

Well what can i say that already has not been said.
I will start with our arrival. We arrived at the Hotel at between 8:30pm and 9:00pm and Tina (hotel owner) was waiting for us at her reception area, and the first thing she did was welcome us with open arms. I knew at that moment our stay at her hotel would be very comfortable and inviting. Our room was clean, and everything we needed was there. The roof top pool and ocean view is fantastic. The hotel is only yards from the beach Tina supplies her guest beach towels and with bottled water. (who does that these days) The WiFi connection was great, air conditioned rooms, a mini refrigerator, coffee maker and coffee. I was just blown away with every thing this boutique Hotel has to offer. (i have stayed at other boutique hotels and do not offer what this hotel does)
Tina is the Best, The Hotel is the best, her staff is the best, and when you leave, one really has that feeling of knowing that you had a getaway, and all you can think of is when will i return for more.
All i know is i will be back and Tina is now a friend for life.!!!!!

I just love this hotel and have stayed there on numerous occasions. You can't beat the location and they have the best mattresses in Mahahual! The rooms have WORKING A/C and mini fridges. The view from the balconies is SPECTACULAR!!!

I spent a week there last Winter and was very sorry to leave. The location was perfect, the view was fabulous, and the staff was very attentive. I checked out other places while I was there and determined that I had made the best choice, and I look forward to returning.
