Good place to eat, it has a lot of potential improvement they can make it better in all aspects to make it last in the great memories of travelers . The view is nice and the prices are good.

Great deal and location for a place to stay. The bathroom was a bit funky, but for the price for a place with a view of the ocean, it was a great deal!

Just happened to find this place when were were on a cruise in Costa Maya and it was an amazing experience. It was a rainy November day and it seemed like most passengers stayed on the ship.
We took a taxi to the far end of the town and planned to walk back toward the ship. This place is actually a little farther south then the south end of the strip (not far, just a minute or two walk).
It was very secluded and a I wasn't even sure it was a restaurant and wasn't sure it was opened but as we wandered around the property the owner saw us and asked us if we wanted a table. The restaurant is literally in the sand, on the beach and he moved us even closer to the water because the kids wanted to play in the water. Then he brought us a free fruit juice that was made right at the restaurant.
The food was AMAZING, fresh fish, nachos, great Mexican food. The prices were EXTREMELY low, even for all the great food (and beer) we had. Service was among the best ever and since I only paid about $20 for all the amazing food, I gave the owner/waiter another $20 tip.
Would DEFINITELY go back anytime I'm in Costa Maya!response / report this review -

I visited Macho's for Lunch with my wife and kids on a day trip to Costa Maya. We'd visited to Senor Frog's first and the beach was pretty but the kid's and wife were not enjoying the atmosphere. While we hung out, my wife drove our golf cart around the Island and saw Macho's, and thought looked like a friendly place, so we packed up and headed there for lunch.
What a gem of a place! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was sublime. A little quiet cove looking out toward the reef. It was so refreshing to be off the beaten path, and to enjoy genuine hospitality. He made us fell like we were family, and the beautiful seclusion made us feel like royalty.
When you visit, tell him I said Hi. On my lists of places to return to soon.
