Nice place but very expensive. They discuss extensively about how the animals were rescued from being illegally owned or used for pictures but then we are able to take so many pictures and videos with them so it seemed hypocritical. You cannot take any phone or camera in with you because they want to sell you pictures. The photo package at the end is 50. Period. You can't choose individual pictures. The cause is good I suppose. The land is kept very well. The tour was too long and repetitive and boring though.

Great place to escape the boring beach life! Spent a half-day here seeing some rescued monkeys, learning about the different species, enjoyed some local snack cuisine, and had a fun albeit dusty atv adventure.

There is a great underground lake that you swim in mid-way through the ATV ride, and it is a welcome relief from the dust of the trails. I recommend the $1 bandana, because otherwise you'll end up with a mouthful of dust from the trails.

Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable, and their snackbar was very reasonable after the tour. I highly recommend visiting, and half the ticket price goes toward supporting the rescue of the monkeys.

Highly recommend this place, totally worth the price. My wife and I came here on our third anniversary trip while staying in Tulum. Our guide Alex was great. All the staff are very friendly and you could tell they cared about the animals. The place is still fairly new (about two years old) and they're expanding and building new/better/bigger enclosures for the animals which was awesome to see. They just finished a new enclosure for three otters they recently took in complete with a slide! Interacting with the monkeys was incredible and well worth the price of admission. It is very structured interaction and all done with training the animals and their well being put first which was great to see. We had a great time and won't hesitate to recommend this stop to other friends and family that take a trip to the area.

This place is ok. Apparently you need reservations and walk-ins are not always available. With that, we had to go back a second day and pay $65 per person. The price seems a bit steep because its a sanctuary so you don't really get to get interact with the animals a lot. On top of that, one of my kids got sick in the middle of the tour so she had to go back to the headquarters to wait until the tour was over. If they only charged $40 for the whole tour, I would definitely give it the 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, the staff is super amazing and friendly, but not worth $65 per person/per visit.

Very expensive.
I visited with my wife and two 2yro. It was an interesting tour with a guide and I learned new things myself too. What left a sour taste is extra 50 for pictures. They would ask us to leave cameras outside the monkey interaction pavilion and would only let on-site photographer take pictures. With 120 paid for two adults entrance I thought that would be included as well. So Doing math 170 for a family is expensive!

Speechless !! They really love and take care of their animals. Inside with the squirrel money was the best part by far. You get to feed and play with the monkeys!! Marcos our guide was very knowledgeable and charismatic.

The Sanctuary is definitely well worth the price of admission. At $65. US, it is a little steep by Mexico standards. However when you figure in the cost of maintaining the facility, the veterinary care, and the feeding of all the animals the price makes sense. Especially considering they are not receiving any funding from the local or federal government. Our guide, Marcos, was very knowledgeable and told the back story for most of the primates by name, of how they came to be rescued and brought to the sanctuary. The tour is highly interactive, with the highlight being the time spent inside one of the enclosures with two of the not so shy monkeys. Many pictures were taken of the monkeys sitting on guests shoulders or heads. It was a fun and informative tour. Just across the federal highway from the small village of Akumal it is a short drive from Cancun, Play sel Carmen or Tulum. There are many Cenotes in the area as well as the famous Sea Turtle Sanctuary in Akumal where you can snorkel with the gentle giants. All in all well worth the trip.

Atv tour was fun and looks like the animals are well cared for however i couldn't comprehend why they serve pork food products at a place dedicated to saving animalsespecially considering they have rescued wild pigs on sitebrought this up with staff and they did not understand how this could be a problem.

This sanctuary has been open for about a year now and is helping many animals that were in unfortunate situations. It's a $65 fee for the 2 hour tour, and well worth it! Alex was our tour guide, for a group of 4. He was knowledgeable with a great energetic personality. A lot of the animals that they have came from private homes and circuses and now have some disabilities due to improper care. I wish this new sanctuary the best of luck and I hope they get funding to keep helping animals in need.

What a pleasant surprise. A perfect way to spend a few hours away from the ocean. Went on a Wednesday and enjoyed a two hour guided tour. $65 US each is a lot but considering this is an animal sanctuary, we were happy to give our money to an important cause. Lots of rescued animals getting medical care and rehabilitation. I asked how much funding they get from the government. The response was that the only thing they get is more animals to care for. Our guide was very knowledgeable, we enjoyed feeding monkeys, deer and goats and learning about the region. Would highly recommend this if you aren't hung up on the price. Since we didn't spend a ton of money on other activities we thought this was well worth our time and money.

Nice place but expect someting like a zoo. Animals are in cages. You will go inside the cages with monkeys but it is so framed up. The good thing is you help funding the sanctuary.

Fantastic staff, educated, multilingual, and informative guides (especially Edwin!). My husband and I had a great time interacting with all of the exotic animals. Rare experience to feed and hang with capuchin and spider monkeys. Highly recommend.

Such a great experience I highly recommend it. The only thing that was unfortunate was we were told we would be physically interacting with two species of monkey but they skipped the second one. (We think possibly the tour had taken to long so they cut it short). This is why I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars.
