Nice place to rest, relax and catch up with friends. The small huts provide a nice ambiance for get-togethers over lunch or dinners. Good is reasonable and it takes a looong time for them to prepare and serve, so don't go here if looking for a quick meal. Staff is courteous and pleasant.

I stayed at Packachere with two friends for almost three weeks and we loved it! It was our first experience in Africa, so it was really nice that the staff was willing to help us with everything. There are good places to relax, to study and to hang around with other people (all very clean!). They have a good mix of food, also a lot vegetarian options.
If I come back to Malawi, I'll definitely go to Packachere!response / report this review -

They make delicious snacks for sale, though their food is a bit on the expensive side. Its a nice and quiet place. It has an open space where people can hold their small events there. Though not a lot of parking space in the case that a lot of people are there. A must try if you are looking for something new.

They have nice food. Summer hats for hanging outdoors. Great for camping they have yoga sessions sometimes during the week. Nice place to meet new people. Its got that afrocentric vibe.

Great place to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee and get some work in. Also a really great place to just chill and meet new people and their Tyson burger is not bad at all

Lovely garden with restaurant covered under grape vines. Nice food, good common areas. Staff can be a little unfriendly.

I have stayed at Pakachere for about 4 weeks and it really became my Malawian 'home'. I stayed mainly in my tent in the beautiful and lush green garden of the hostel. I could make use of all the facilties like hot showers, wifi, the restaurant (with enormous plates for breakfast to keep you going for the whole day and nice vegetarian options), free coffee & tea and the huge 'chill bed' upstairs. There was a great vibe when I was there, with a good mix of locals, expats, travelers and students. Next to this, the staff is very friendly and always willing to help you out with advice or a hand. I definitely will come back another time!

Visit Zomba the Old Capital City of Malawi, which has a magnificient Mountain (Plateaux). At the foot of the mountain there is Pakachere one of the best Backpacker's stop place you can't afford to miss and chill-out and enjoy some traditional and exortic dishes.

Ik heb mij erg vermaakt in Pakachere. Het is een super mooie locatie en dichtbij Zomba centrum. Je kunt er ook voor kiezen om te gaan hiken. De natuur en de omgeving is prachtig. Pakachere heeft vriendelijk personeel. Voor kerst wilde ik een brownie maken en de keuken vond het niet erg dat ik de keuken even met de koks deelde. Het is een betoverende plek dat heel anders is dan de rest van Malawi. Ik heb geen negatieve ervaringen gehad met Pakachere en ik zou er zeker terugkomen.
