What a amazing place is thisIsland is so tiny but everything is available for guest staff is unbelievable..they even know your name while entered in resort..

Beautiful property. The staff is unbelievable, they even know your name when you arrive, due to some crafty camera work ahead of time. Very small, tiny island but everything you need is available. The flight from Male' is about 20 min. but you may have to wait in the lounge prior to the float plane departing because there will likely be other passengers. The restaurants are great as well.

The most amazing trip we've had! The facilities were amazing and the service was impeccable! The diving was amazing! (Thanks to Jay our Divemaster!) Food was excellent - everything is made to order and super fresh! But the best part, I think, is the Escape, their 80 ft sailboat. Amazing vessel (thanks to the captain who knows the best spots to go dive and see the whale shark and giant manta rays!). Yes it's expensive, but you get what you pay for.

It’s a must visit place with excellent hospitality and staff. The best part about the place is they never say no for anything. Everybody goes out of the way to make your stay special.
Mr.vasant and harpal singh were superb cook and made all the indian food we asked for. Made us feel like home.
Salim was an amazing guide for snorkelling.
Hussain clicked pretty pictures for us.
Bartenders made amazing cocktails and sheesha.
And every other staff made our stay memorable.

Our standing ovation goes not just to great hotels, but mostly to the ones that are ready to admit their imperfections and know how to make you forget about them. This is absolutely the best example. I would send staff from the Westin Berlin to train their on a course "How to make your unhappy guest very happy!" Well, not only Westin, a couple of others need that course too.
Of course, if you live in the same tiny island day after for a 10 days, you find something that makes you unhappy. In our case it was not enough Internet connection for a 2 hour video Skype conversation, which was absolutely necessary for us; too much chili in the food and a guy that was cleaning our room. But all the staff, all the managers and especially Chunky, our wonderful concierge and our W Insider, would just make it all disappear in such a perfect manner, we would simply become happy again!
Still I would say, a food could be better. But I wasn't as bored with it as I was expecting for 10 days and my wife is totally happy, even about the food.
Downunder and Wave are such a great guys! Found 3 whale sharks for us on our boat tour! 14 meters long and at arm's length (it was safe, don't worry).
Ah, dry cleaning is definitely something you shouldn't do on Maldives. Stick to the laundry and save everything else for back home.response / report this review -

Awesome place, w Maldives is a best place to come for your honeymoon. If badget permits pls try once W Maldives; you will get the unforgettable wow experience here. The blue sea, serene water, sun set, snorkelling, scubadiving and underwater life will mesmeris you. The staff is here very attentive, humble and prompt.

I choose to stay at the W Maldives because it is ranked one of the top SPG properties in the world and is the hotel you see all over the SPG flyers. However, after spending a week at W Maldives I was completely disappointed with my stay. The hotel needs a lot of work to meet top notch hotels in the Maldives. I would not recommend it to anyone who asked where to stay in the Maldives.
It started off badly when we arrive for our seaplane from Mali to the island, we were told the seaplane which we booked in advance wouldn't be able to bring my luggage with us and it would have to come on the next flight. I wasn't just angry I was at a whole other level, I wanted to get to my room put on my bikini and sunscreen and lay by the water but no I would have to wait 4 hours for my luggage. They apologized for the inconvenience and I asked since I would have to wait could we be offered lunch at a restaurant while we wait. Oh no no they couldn't do such a thing, it wasn't there fault our luggage couldn't fly with us. I am SPG Platinum, 75+ nights a year and they completely dismissed that and didn't care.
I love W Hotels don't get me wrong, I have been to W Bali (LOVE LOVE LOVE) W Hong Kong, W Londo, W Verbier, W Guanzho, W Amsterdam. but this one, which is supposed to be one of their best, I was completely disappointed. One thing which I was very frustrated by was when I went to the sunset bar to have overly priced drinks that don't look anything like what you see on Instagram, the staff who weren't working were playing in the water in front of us. I understand they live on the island, and they have off hours but other hotels like the Park Hyatt Maldives allow their staff to play in the water early morning as to not affect the guest. I couldn't get over this because I wanted to take gorgeous sunset pictures like most other guests at the bar and had the staff playing football in the water in front of me.
I went to the Gym one morning, as I try to stay in shape on vacation, get this the staff has the right to use the gym. So mid morning when I went to workout, the staff was using the machines so I couldn't use them. What hotel have you been to that allows the staff to use the same areas as the guest to work out, who are spending thousands to be there?
The breakfast was ok but really nothing special. If you have ever been to W Bali this hotel doesn't even come close in terms of a breakfast layout. W Bali is the best of the best, service is top notch, food is out of this world. W Maldives fell short on everything, services was none existent and it bothered me how they never picked up dishes or checked if you needed coffee, we would have to wave them down staff member should we need anything or just do it ourselves as they stood around and chatted. I will say when we arrived the chef was brand new and had just arrived that day, he spoke with us on numerous occasions about changes he was making so it may be different now.
Another dangerous and major issue is the staff driving the carts, they have NO consideration for the guest. I understand they use the carts to deliver food to the rooms, drive guest to their room or change laundry in the room, but they have no consideration for guest walking on the walk way. I was almost thrown into the water by the cart zooming by. Staff really needs to be trained. Also, we put our dishes outside after dinner and they stayed outside for 2 full days until we brought it to someones attention. Unlike other Maldives hotels like the Park Hyatt or Sheraton, the W Maldives really needs to up its standards.response / report this review -

Like no other place. Service service service.
Everybody here trying to make you smile be happy and serve you the way you want. I was there and every employee helped me with an outstanding grade of hospitality.
Food overthere is 5 star. Restaurant Fire has one of the best stakes i've ever tried. Breakfast at Kitchen has it own way yo treat you. Starti g from pastry to juices.
The juices chef was eager to create different kind of mixed juices to my taste.
Mahmoud was willing to serve dishes out of the menu for us, and he was creative in completing the table with full lunch meal.

Beautiful scenery with emerald color beach and modern dining facilities with kind service. Both beach and ocean rooms are excellent with their own characteristics. Never forgettable taste of Mohito.
