paradise. Spectacular in every way. The service is excellent. The staff are very friendly and professional and the food is delicious and of quality. Blue turquoise color of the water is indescribable and cottages on the sea-wonderful. Bathroom deserves a point and the side of the bath, looking at the spaces around doors that open, and carry you to another world. Again, of course, an excellent restroom bathroom and toilet divinely beautiful

I visited here for business and booked a sunrise water villa. I felt i started living again. Had most amazing 3 days at my life. Staff were amazingly friendly, sometimes you feel, you have never smiled with people in your life than here. The vill's was very clean, plenty of space and next to the gorgeous sea.

Lots of things were there to keep my eyes busy, super clean white beach, gorgeous beach villas and even staff. I loved the foods, there were around 3 restaurants at the resort and each will not disappoint you.

Room service were tide and fast, atmosphere of the villa was very comfortable. Bathroom was very spacious and clean.

I loved everything and will defiantly come again

This trip was meant to be a marriage proposal and to make things special, I emailed the management 1.5 months in advance saying that I would like to have a special dinner under their "Dining by Design" where I would be making my move while the sun was setting so that I could take some photos with the beautiful Maldivian sunset as a backdrop.

So in my email, I requested for them to suggest a good timing for me to start dining but they merely replied "sunset time" in the booking details. I could understand the ambiguity in their reply as no one can ever pinpoint what time the sun would set exactly but a range of timing would have been very helpful for me.

Moving on.

On the day of my arrival (17th November), I told the staff that I had arranged for the "dining by design" tonight and asked him what time I should reach Gulhifushi Island so that I can catch the sunset. He told me that to call the reception at 5.50pm where a buggy will pick me up from my suite and bring me to the pontoon where I will take another short boat ride to Gulhifushi.

At 5.55pm, I called the receptionist and explained that I had a "dining by design" appointment but was told that I had to wait 10-15 mins for the buggy. Noting that the sun was already setting, my partner and I decided to just walk all the way from the overwater suites to the reception (it was at least a 10 minutes walk by foot), only to be told that I will need to wait for the boat to come (another goddamn 10 minutes).

In short, I only reached Gulhifushi Island at 7.30pm where I had to propose in pitch dark. For a meal (2 pax) costing more than USD800 and with such a long notice in advance, I am truly disappointed that you guys can even screw this up for me.

Also, you guys did not even put in any effort to make it up to me. I had to be the one to personally ask you guys to re-arrange the same setting the next day so that I can go back down to the island at 5pm JUST to retake some photos, which I DIDN't WANT it in the end as I was already too pissed off and had other better plans given my short staycation.

TDLR: I wasn't expecting some fanciful michelin star dining experience. All I wanted was being able to propose to my girlfriend when the sun is setting and I was willing to pay for that. You could have asked me to go down at 5pm or even earlier so that I won't miss the sunset but no one said anything about that when I first arrived. I was the one who had to inform your staff that I had arranged the dinner at Gulhifushi Island and I also had to be the one to ask your staff what timing is appropriate to catch the sunset, which he clearly recommended me a timing that is wayyyy after sunset.

My problem with your team is you guys don't take enough initiative and didn't even bother to make it up to me.

Nice place to bring kids as it has a variety of activities like game Room ping pong, volleyball as well as lot of water sports activities, but be careful as there is a lot of hidden charges the hotel might charge you for.

Normal place and there is not much privacy, also some of the staff not professional , they did't showed us the all resort for example they didn't give us more details about the spa, restaurants,activities and the check out.However they are no ATM (because some of the staff if you don't give them a tips they will not help you).

The important thing don't take a Male City Tour through Anatara Dhigu Maldives , because I really had very difficult time in the Male city with Tour guide , he toke us to his friend shops and they locked the door and push us to buy a normal items from them with very very expensive price or they will attack us if we don't buy from them . So do't take your family to Male City specially if you have a kids it's not a safe place.

When having the luxury of traveling the world, one experiences different standards of luxury. Anantara offers quality and luxury with amazing staff.
Choosing for the overwater villa was great, it offers privacy in a secluded natural environment in the Maldives. This beautiful place on earth must be close to paradisesea life is abundant and water activities are making this resort a great hideaway in the Indian ocean. When you go Maldives, you must go Anantara!

Stayed here with my wife and two children (10 & 12) for two weeks. I'm not sure if one can do it any better. Excellent service and super friendly staff, great hospitality, well maintained and clean at all times. The food is just excellent with plenty of choices for taste variations. Every single picture looks like super edited but it's nothing but real. Just awesome, wow!
