nice food..good service and live music💛
We wanted to go there one afternoon but where unfortunately too late. We decided to go again for lunch and were very happy with the result. Beautiful location and a very nice restaurant. I the chicken and shrimps with rice which tasted very good and would recommend again. The staff was more than happy to also give us advice on what we should visit during our stay.
very nice place good taste
Visited this restaurant a couple of times and both times enjoyed the food. The service is good and the restaurant has an openness feel to it. We had the seafood and the traditional curries and did enjoy the meals. The lobster came with a risotto. It was tasty but not a risotto. Think Mauritian restaurants should stick to their cusine. We have not experienced many good restaurants in Mauritius but this one I would recommend.
Very expensive for the quantity you get. Food is good but you will have to spend a lot. Overall it is overpriced.
We went there for Christmas evening. It was very nice. Good food and perfect area
Good seafood restaurant. Nice terrace on the bay with cozy chairs and white covers. Good food. Seafood platter for 2 is a lot of food; good quality but decent cooking. Good white house wine. Live music. Parking. Pricy.
Good Food, good service n nice sea view n atmosphere
On the beach with friendly staff.Good food but very small portions.
Very good food, excellent value and service
It was one of the most amazing evening and meal we had during our holidays. We were hesitant before going as its Trip advisor was quite low. However we when going through the the reviews on other restaurant we saw that its not the reality. We pushed for it and honestly what a good standard for country like Mauritius and specially in Grand baie it is one of the nicest restaurant if not the nicest. Right on the sea there are other restaurants but the wooden setting is fabulous. Ah the food try the seafood platter for two persons, but you need time its takes time to enjoy the almost 10 items . with 2 deserts and 2 fruit cocktails we spent around 120€.
Very nice location close to the sea. nice view. excellent seafood. Nice and fast service. Try the Seafood Plateau at 3800 Rs, exquisite!
excellent view and food, very nice restaurant in Grand Bay
My first visit at this restaurant, i was invited by my cousin from England. I had a fish cooked in banana leaf and a chocolate moeulleux which was recommended by the waiter. A Magnificent view! Waiter Mr. Vishal was very attentive and polite, he asked me to comment. I will surely be back for some more seafood!
The best restaurant of Grandbay. I had some doubts from other reviews but just had an excellent lunch . Worth trying the grilled whole fish with lemon cream and 2 glasses of wine for only 25€.
Really popular restaurant serving delicious seafood in a fine space,The Canopy n almond tree gave me a feeling im dining at my Grandpa’s house ,Fresh fish is prepared with care and Deep cooked. Had some Cucumber Qnelle and Fresh mushroom.Enjoyed that
Bit hit and miss from our groups selection. Some of the mains like the squid was lovely while a couple of the starters were average at best. As a fish restaurant, you get the feeling that if it ain't from the sea then we don't really care. Not cheap and not bad food but also not worth a second visit. Best feature was the attentive service and spacious surroundings.
Great location. The staff are helpful and friendly. A bit pricey.
Amazing location with brilliant sea views, pleasant and comfortable decor. Excellent service by the staff, very tasty and good range of food. Adequate car parks
I am so glad that I chose the concierge's recommendation over Trip Advisor. Great seafood and top service. I would go back there to try other dishes.
PS. I would ignore some of the restaurents in the top rankings in Trip Advisor.
AWFUL, AWFUL & AWFUL!
POOR MENU AND RUDE SERVICE ALONG WITH RUDE STAFF. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY THERE!
Make no mistake, this is definitely a seafood restaurant. The menu has changed a little, so when you order the tapas, make sure you have enough food to go around, they are on the small side. We had the seafood platter for two, a little pricey, but you get a very good assortment of seafood. Combine this with a great bottle of wine, and you have the makings of good night out. As with most restaurants in Mauritius, most offer an al fresco experience, Le Capitaine offers a great view of the bay, so take advantage of it, you're paying for it.
