I went there with my Wife during Thingyan holiday for tea time around 3pm. It was a colonial building (over a hundred years old) and beautifully renovated. We had our coffee and snacks in Strand Cafe and spent the wonderful evening there. It was an amazing experience. The staffs are very polite and helpful, the food are great and price is also fair, just a little bit expensive ($4 for a cup of coffee) but I believe it’s worth every penny and will certainly go there again with my family.

I was able to eat here for dessert. I also had afternoon tea. Service, presentation, and taste were topnotch.

Aside from the food, the hotel, the cafe and its interiors were beautiful. It brings you back to a different time.

We were there for just the restaurant. It is a historic hotel with very nice luxurious decorations, but the service was bad. We were dressed pretty casually and we were being followed around and stopped when taking pictures in the hotel because we weren't staying there. Some of the wait staffs in the restaurant were also giving us attitudes while they were all smiles toward the foreigners. Didn't feel welcome at all. It's too bad because this is probably the most iconic hotel in Myanmar.

Afternoon tea (classic English or Myanmar-style) for about 20 USD including food and a choice of tea or coffee. Champagne is available for extra. The staff were attentive, accommodating and friendly. The setting was relaxed, the only negative really was the the cafe was quite warm inside.

Don't come here for breakfast. Fresh fruit was able a tablespoon of mush. Why bother with the renovation if you are going to rip people off so they don't come back.

So stylish. Love this hotel! If there was a pool it would be perfect. Rooms are stunning, the food in the restaurant is incredible and the bar is very cool.

We didn’t stay here, only stopped by for lunch!
Two stars because this place is iconic. Took 3 away because, wellregarding service they forgot to bring 2 (of 5) items ordered. And, regarding quality, after tasting the first three things we weren’t sorry.

Yesterday I visited the Strand Hotel for a drink in the lounge. I was curious about the hotel because it is a colonial landmark. After reviewing the menu I choose a Pimms because the Strand has a very British vibe & a Pimms seemed appropriate. The drink was vile & I had a very difficult time swallowing it, so I asked the waiter to add more ginger ale thinking that would improve it, but it did not. After my one drink I returned to my hotel. I then proceeded to be violently ill & was grateful I was in the privacy of my room. I am now very negative about this hotel because I was poisoned.

Grand representation of a bygone era with a totally modern twist. Old colonial glamour coupled with modern service standards. Nostalgic and inspiring. Glamorous and chic. Well worth a visit even if not staying in one of its 31 suites.

It's definitely worth visiting for historical reasons. You can still feel the colonial times here and some british guests still behave like that. The contrast to the outside world of Yangon could not be bigger a bizarre experience.

Very nice and chic hotel!
Everything is just remodeled and you get a nice and clean vibe!
Rooms are very spacious and decorated with a good taste.

The concierge was one of the best in Asia! always willing to help and make everything happen!
Coffee is great and the bar is super cool and food at the restaurant great as well!

I was not a big fan of Yangon or Myanmar overall but this hotel completely made things easier for us while we were there!

Cocktails used to be much better, now they're pretty watered down, but they're willing to fix the drink if you reject it, so no worries. Gave 3 stars because their creme Brule was a joke, it had the consistency of vomit and the waiter insisted that's how it should be (it should be firm and hold shape, yet creamy).

I then requested for a different dessert, lava cake, which was more like rich chocolate cake dough that wasn't properly baked (lava cake should have a distinct fully formed dough covering with molten, flowing chocolate flowing out when you cut it).

Otherwise service is good and waiters are attentive.

This was our last day in Yangon. This hotel is not to be missed. If you are not able to stay here you must at least have a drink by the colonial bar or dine at the restaurant. After almost two weeks of great Myanmar food we loved European food at the Strand. The rooms, butlers, hall and concierge make you jump back in time.
I was welcomed with a special postcard from the manager.
Top class!!!

This has easily been the best hotel I've been to, recently renovated, perfect a/c even in the hottest time of the year. Place is incredibly spacious and friendly, highly recommend it.

The hotel was amazing. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They helped us arrange a bubble bath with rose petals. Also, the in-room breakfast was delicious and offered many choices. We will definitely come back to this hotel the next time we visit Yangon!

Enjoyed a first rate, old fashioned English Tea. Staff very nice and tea excellent, especially the freshly baked scone. Good value, bar looked nice but did not have time to enjoy a drink there.

Dripping in colonial atmosphere but with a new, luxurious finish. Only went to the bar but drinks were fantastic, well priced. Only complaint is the refrigerated state at which they keep the whole bar. Actually a bit too cold!

It's a grate,romantic, see the river view,near downtown.. near the British embassy. ,ancient buliding Main post Office..ect.it's a great area

Recently refurbished with exquisite taste, this grand dame is ready for the next generation of travellers to this former and soon to be again, hub of commerce and culture. Cigars and cocktails to be consumed while feeling a little bit nostalgic. Offering great value and unsurpassed style a wonderful experience on every visit.
