I really loved to stay in the hotel. The staffs were so kind and helpful. I'd love to stay in the hotel again. But need water in bathroom. Apart from that, all were perfect.

I've stayed at this hotel regularly for the past 3 years. It's become my 'home' in Yangon. I always appreciate your warm welcomes and hospitality. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The gym and the spa are top of the class.

There was one hiccup on my last visit - I did not get my welcome amenities. However, I was impressed that the staff gave me a box of chocolates upon check out once they found out about the missing amenities.

Very Very nice place to spend your time on holiday. The room is clean and comfortable. Many kinds of breakfast you can eat. About the fitness center, all trainers are so kind help and advise. I strongly recommend this place for your relaxation.

Olivia at the front desk greeted us always with a smile and figured out what we needed before we did, where we should go and helped us navigate Yangon. Even though we were with a tour we came a few days early and stayed later. She is a jewel and you should be proud she is representing you. Moo Thaw the concierge also made our trip great. We had some places we had not seen after our river cruise ended. He arranged a guide who spoke English, found an air conditioned car and made sure the driver knew what we wanted. Both Olivia and Moo were great.

A very pleasant experience. The staff were friendly and helpful. Check-in was smooth and quick, while check-out was even quicker.
Did not have much time to enjoy the wonderful multi-country cuisine spread for breakfast.
The Gallery Bar is very nice.

All the staff give a warm and genuine welcome on arrival and each time they meet you, always willing to help.
The accommodation was very comfort and well furnished.
Pleasant and comfortable executive lounge and public lounge.

We have had a very pleasant experience in general. Excellent service, very friendly and helpful staff. Good sized rooms, clean and quiet. Excellent location. Pleasant lounge area.
However, we have major complaints about the bathroom: very difficult to get in and out of the high-rim bath tub (walk-in shower stall preferred), toilet is inefficient, water drains from sink with undesirable noise.

first stayed here when this was Trader's, this was our third or fourth visit; wonderful, helpful staff, well maintained facilities, great location and relatively reasonable prices--what's not to like? Wish the Club offering of food and drink was a bit richer, and its outside guest policy a bit more accommodating, but otherwise no complaints. Keep up the good work, see you next year

A great hotel in a convenient location in Yangon.
My room was outstanding in every respect, including spaciousness, cleanliness, amenities.
I ate all my breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. Very good restaurant.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. In particular I would like to mention the concierge, Jason, who was very helpful with a problem I had with an airline reservation and who helped in other ways.
I think this must be the best place to stay in Yangon!

Delightful and beautifully appointed hotel. Centrally located. Stayed here about 3 weeks ago for 4 days. We were on the Horizon club room floors. The Horizon Club has 360* view of city. Room was large and very comfortable. Staff friendly, helpful and courteous. They even had a birthday cake made for my spouse's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to be back again.

Nice hotel very convenient location and facilities as it is connected to sule mall with few good stores and a hypermarket in the lower ground floor. The rooms are nice however not very modern for a shangri-la chain standards. The staff are extremely nice and helpful

Very clean room located in the city center. But being a 5 star rated hotel, an refurbishment and upgrade is certainly required because the hotel facilities is a bit run down. Security is tight as very time you enter the hotel, you need to go through a scanner.

Everyone who wants to book at this hotel, please think twice unless you do not value your live.

On 17 May 2017, there was total power black out at this hotel for about 45 minutes. Yes, this is the fact that government power supply in Myanmar is not stable and power failure is very common in Myanmar. But what put all the guests' lives at risk was the hotel's standby generator unable to start during that power failure. Their explanation, announced after investigating later, was there was no diesel at the generator's fuel tank.

Please imagine what will happen if fire break out during that 45 minutes.

The automatic fire alarm system will not work because the battery pack would have dead after 45 minutes. So the guests will not be alerted for the fire.

The automatic fire sprinkler system will not work because there is no power to the fire pumps, so the fire will be spread out very easily and quickly.

Smoke will not be extracted out from the hotel because the mechanical ventilation fans will not work as there is no power supply to the fans. So the guests have to inhale the smoke and chocked to dead.

So, unless you do not value your live, please do think twice before you book at this hotel. To me, I cannot be convinced even with a free stay.

Irresponsible Business Group in Myanmar. Breaching construction standards and used public road and platform area for their own business in last few years until gonernment took action. Made worst to state event by not supplying electric power of their own back-up generators.

The Sule Shangri-La used to be a Traders' Hotel (and is still known to most taxi drivers as Traders'), so some of its room facilities are noticeably older. However, it functions perfectly fine and the new furnishings help create a balance between tradition and modernity - which is very appropriate for Myanmar.

Service is splendid, but due to the surrounding construction sites it is a bit difficult to walk around. However, this was in mid-2016 so it should be much better by early 2017.
