It’s a must to see while you are in Yangon. It’s beautiful and the reclining Buddha inside the temple really deserves a visit! It’s not crowded and try to dress modestly. Cover your shoulders and legs! Try to respect this sacred place and enjoy the beautiful feet with many meanings and stroll around and be amazed by different Buddha hands posing!

Free entrance. Espectacular Buddha with many small Buddhas around. Just 1 minute away to Ngar Htat Gyi pagoda. You must Visit both at the same time.

Main attraction is the Giant buddha statue in the middle. Surrounded by small statues all around the place. I did'nt hire a guide but would be nice to have one around if you really want to know more of the history.

Here is another classic example of people rating a place based on what Lonely Planet recommends. You'll read about this place in every guidebook as a large reclining Buddha statue; and every review will say you "have" to see it. I'm going to keep it real and say "no, you absolutely do not" have to see it. Is it big? Yes. Are the designs on the feet interesting? Somewhat. Is it still just a big androgynous statue of someone laying (lying?) down? Absolutely.

Yes, a good place to visit when in Yangon. It houses one of the largest reclining buddha statue in Myanmar. 🙏

Really beautiful to go see but don't spend too much time. Reminded me of the reclining Buddha in Bangkok. Definitely worth a visit. We spent around half an hour walking around here. You’ll be asked to walk around barefoot as a sign of respect. So if you’re OCD or afraid to walk barefoot, perhaps not the place for you. But you can hold your shoes in your hand as you walk around. Try not to speak too loudly as people are praying and thus, soak in the culture and history as you walk around.

Big Buddha, we visited in the late afternoon and there were no tourists, just locals and some dogs. There was a guy inside that insisted on us meeting with his uncle to get a blessing in exchange for a donation, we skipped it. We spent less than 10'.

This Buddha is HUGE. The pictures don't do it justice. There's some other neat things to read around it but really you go just to see a MASSIVE Buddha.

Kyaukhtatgyi Pagoda aka Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda) is famed for the enormous 65-meter long sleeping Buddha, one of the largest in Myanmar. What impresses me is also the 108 distinguishing marks on both the Buddha's soles of and the explanations in English. It was indeed a good learning experience.

Amazing. Just go and see it. After you get to the top of the stairs and look at the statue, you HAVE to be awed. I'm afraid I may have sworn when I saw the size of the statue. just amazing.

ChauckHtatGyee_Pagoda, this picture was taken from the other side than the famous one, the statue of the sleeping Buddha. It was a history of Buddha Gautama, from his birth, childhood, society surround, revelation till his death. It was an short way to know the important events of Buddha .

Very long reclining Buddha. Eyes are made of glass as they are so shiny, very nice. Not so many tourists. Note : Must pay for mobile phone camera entry.

The size of this female Buddah is amazing. You can take photos from a high platform in located at the feet of the Buddah. You can also see the artist working on the high chairs. Note the different stages of making the chair too much labour goes into this work. There are alot of dogs and cats around but the place is clean. Worth a visit. No entry fees but donation is welcomed

One of the most beautiful attractions in Yangon although it is not as well known as reclining Buddhas in other cities. Well worth a visit especially during the week when it is quiet and is a very relaxing place just to hang out. It is also free to visit
