..interesting after reading all the mixed reviews..personally i went with low expectations .and was pleasantly surprised, i would describe NB Hotel has budget friendly, clean, cheerful accommodation as far as how it looks, good for short stays, the beds were comfortable, with clean fresh linen (but I'm quite small compared to most people in this region who are 6feet tall, perhaps the beds are not so accommodating for them???) with generous buffet breakfast, excellent parking space and easy access to Riga CBD and the LU Botanical gardens.a few things to mention, of course as others have said it requires a good reno, we had to pay upfront rather than @ then end of our stay, which was unusual but i'm an Aussie traveller who is now accustomed to expect the unexpected, for the price in the Baltic region, I think the accommodation level it's what you would expect ~ : ) .and Latvia's excellent summer weather made everything seem wunderbar anyways..

Good fenced car park, tram stop just in front of the hotel, big breakfast included for all guests, lots of professional billiards for rent, space for kids, no lift for the two upper floors.

- Rooms needs a makeover and more attention to cleanliness. Bed is uncomfortable. Do not recommend to stay here if you looking for nice and cozy place.

It was really bad and inpolite service. We got another room because our room wasnt cleaned yet, although it was already 3pm, the room we got was a lot worse, very small, two seperate beds, it was very cold inside and heaters wasnt working, so we increase temperature in the room by using a hot shower In the room was mold, hairs in the bathroom. In the restaurant service was very bad, we couldnt get food several times, because of some unknown reasons. Also we needed iron and we got the broken one, they didnt have another. Wont go there ever again.
