Everything just perfect. Great place for staying when in Riga.

Good location in the center of Riga city and very democratic pricing. Breakfast was tasty. But hotel in general needs renovation. Tired interrior. Bathroom was clean. There is safebox in each room without additional fee. No free parking for customers- double check that you parked your car correctly.

Nice hotel and cheap prices. Not too far from old town and really good location if you are going to go Arena Riga. Breakfast is fresh and satisfying. The cleaning was avoidable and the room had a lot of dust. Common areas were clean enough.

Good location, there are cheap places to eat around, store. Also, you can find free parking in about 10-15 minutes walk.
Room was clean and comfortable, although
there is unpleasant smell in the bathroom.

Great place with convenient location in the quiet part of the city center near some of the best restaurant streets. Creative unique lobby design and friendly staff. The room was specious - had an extra sofa and a few chairs; nice shower with a bathrobe and slippers. Overall, a great cozy place to stay.

City Hotel Teater, Riga
What makes me think that this hotel
located just in front of the Daile Theatre
is an underutilised love hotel?
The economy of hospitality is theatrical already
but here theatricality achieves the next level.
Rather engaging musac meets you
from your check in to breakfast to check out
and you start thinking you are going to sleep like in an elevator.
Is it going to be a good sleep or a bad sleep,
you start wondering.
If you have never slept in an elevator before
you have no reference points to compare,
naturally. The thought is elevating though.
If you can sleep on a plane then, for sure,
you may sleep in an elevator too.
Reception is located in a yard under an open sky
that now was given a glass roof treatment,
thus, if you open a room window, –
or was it only my room? –
you hear the receptionist working below you
24/7, which is sweet, right?
“Listenin to musac,
hearing people scream,
sittin in the waiting room,
reading crappy magazines,“
quipped Weird Al from some webpage.
Normally, I am this person who prefers
good Wi-Fi instead of crappy magazines.
Thus I spent a night in bed googling about the connection
between the musac and tourism industry.
Urban dictionary defines musac
as “a really bad music that you hear in elevators
(also surprisingly similar to porn music)”
The musac at the City Hotel Teater playlists
its own down-tempo lounge music version,
some metaphysical rendering
of spaghetti westerns’ soundtrack
only with post sci-fi notes
(don’t forget the porn undernotes).
So there I was
feeling like I sleep on that space ship above Solaris.
Half asleep half awake half dressed half naked
half illegally downloading full series at the full-speed.
I started from the new Twin Peaks series.
My hotel room most probably has a double.
And later I watched Fargo:
“At the request of the survivors,
the names have been changed.
Out of respect for the dead,
the rest has been told exactly as it occurred.”

An awkward experience
I had 6 nights here and do not feel "at home" here, the reason is probably the slightly distinctive shape of the room .. also I can not stand the kind of bath they had here (you have to sit down to take a bath because the hose to direct the shower is too short).
The reception is "cold" - you feel that you are a inconvenience, If they learned to acknowledge your existence with a form of greeting - so one would feel a little more welcome - that would be nice.
Positive
Here are neat and clean.
There is a refrigerator.
There are lockers.
Negative
Miserable Internet.
Bathing - you have to sit down and bathe.
