One of the oldest cinema theatre in batticaloa. Now its reconstructed as modern air conditioned with cushion comfortable seats. Customer service is good. Much better parking facilities than other theatres in batticaloa.

Great movie theater . Good sound quality . But the size of the theater hall is small. Has normal and balcony view. Good wide screen. But prices are high for a 3D movies.
Canteen is not that good. Not much variety of foods to choose from. Prices are high.

There are two theaters available here. One is Shanyhi which is a normal theater and the other one is Suganthy which is a 3D theater.

You can't expect high quality 3D effect there, but it's fine if you are watching the 3D movie for the first time. Price is okay, but when comparing to facilities it's bit high.

Normal theater shanthi doesn't have AC and too much of sweating will be there if you go inside at any time. Seats are not adjustable. So if you need a good chair choose balcony and ODC seats are bad and if you sit in the back you can't see the screen well.

Wide screen,sound systems are good and one of the oldest Theater in batticaloa which is still running.And now the owner build a new one attached with this.

Cheaper option in Batticaloa city. But no AC. Good seating on balcony. Not recommended for ODC seating. Better to go 6.30 or 9.30 show to avoid sweating in hot days. Advance booking available at the counter.

I know this theater from my childhood they still havent changed a bit.The ventilation inside the theater was very poor.
The seats in the balcony were better but the main issue is their backup energy supply(the generator) wont work properly so oncase of a current supply cut the DTS goes off and u have to watch the movie without the background score.

Even though this is very old theater, it is the only the Theater in the batticaloa town. Recently it was upgraded with digital projector therefore you can experience a Cristal clear movies. Seating arrangements in the balcony is nice with adjustable modern chairs. However the parking Are is insufficient and the sound system is to be improved.
