Good place with a beautiful scenery and the staff is good but difficult to talk with,since some doesn't know either English or Sinhala properly. Almost all of the staff are tamil, my only complain is that the rooms are not properly designed just bits and pieces everywhere, atmosphere is not very much relaxing and the rooms are not very worth for money anyway the all-round service was good.

East Lagoon is probably the first luxury hotel close to Batticaloa town. It has small swimming pool, located in a place surrounded by a lagoon. Staff is okay and the hotel serves excellent food.

Good Hotel, with Lagoon view. Highly recommend . Meeting rooms, bar , pool available . Also they are having superb lagoon view rooms. Friendly staff. Night you can see villagers are catch Prones lively .

It’s a superb place, calm environment, nice lagoon view, great atmosphere, adequate space. Importantly highly positive service attitude of staff. Ideal for families and office functions..

Good star hotel. The facilities in the rooms are excellent.
The morning views from the rooms are extremely beautiful as many of these rooms are facing to a nice sun rise.

Good Location. Good Facilities . But staff are not friendly, delayed services. Food is not good always. Could not get any "Batti" specials.

View for a sunset & sunrise were too good. Also the seating styles for them at outdoors are pretty cool. Pool is too small for a swim. Room services are slow. Had to wait around 30mins for an iron box(maybe they have only 1iron box or so)

The outside sitting places have beautiful surrounding, perfect to enjoy a nice beer. They could be a bit more observant for people sitting outside, since it takes long sometimes.

A beautiful hotel in Batticaloa district. There are wonderful sound proof meeting rooms available with affordable charges. Cuisine was delicious. A finger tip place for relaxation. Rooms and services are excellent. Staff of East Lagoon are well trained and giving wonderful hospitality. Pictures will tell you the remaining story. Thanks

On 07th, 8th October 2015, I stayed in this hotel with my wife.
Positive: The hotel and surrounding were superb. Specially when sun rise. room size is good, clean and comfortable.
Negative: For my surprise, a member of staff opened the door without even knocking with a spare key. I was totally gobsmacked. He apologised and went. I straight away called the reception desk, they never came back to me even though they had the CCTV cameras. Wouldn't use it, if I travel with family. Single man, It's O.K

One of the best hotels in Batticaloa town area. Lovely view of the lagoon and in the evenings you might also spot fishermen going about their business if dine in the huts along the lagoon. Customers service is average. Good spacious rooms on the main wing. Food quality is good.

One of the best luxury hotel in Batticaloa! The rooms are absolutely great and the price also affordable! They have private car parking, Cafeteria, Bar. Pool, Walking place, Banquet hall and almost everything!

We stayed there for a night! We asked extra sugar packets and they refused to give us! even we are willing to pay for it! Bit, dissapointed in the way they treated us.
