It's my school. It has created many talents from Batticaloa who served and are serving globally. It was established by Catholic priests and that were maintaining the school until government if Sri Lanka took over it from them. This school was known for basketball not only nationally but also globally. Many talented individuals have played in national basket ball team. It also excels in education.

St. Michael's College National School is a national school in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. Founded by French Jesuit missionary Ferdinand Bonnel in 1873 it was nationalized in 1961. The school was founded in 1873 by Rev. Fr.Ferdinand Bonnel. Most private schools in Ceylon were taken over by the government in 1960 but SMC chose to remain private. The school struggled on thereafter but on 2 February 1970 the school was handed over to the government.
It's a national school for education as well as basketball.It has produced some of the top basketball players to this country. We all salute the Jesuit priest.
