We wanted to go to Sigiriya but it was already kind of late, so we made it here just in time for the sunset. It turned out to be a perfect choice, it was just as beautiful but not crowded and way cheaper. It's an easy 15 min hike. You need to climb a few rocks in the final part but nothing too crazy.

Very nice view from top of the rock. We can see the Sigiriya rock in different angle .

Went up at 5:30AM for the sunrise. Decided not to do the Lion rock. Best decision ever. There were just a couple of people up there and it was only 500RS compared to USD30 that they want to climb the infinitely more crowded other rock (I appreciate personal space).

Historical Buddhist temple with rock cave. Climbing the rock is difficult in the last part.

Wonderful 360° view, amusing journey, low entrance fee (in comparison to its neighbour - Sigiriya Lion rock)

Incredible place . Going on top was not so long and from there you've got a 360 ' view.

Perfect place to see the Lion Rock and the wonderful landscape without paying the crazy ticket for Lion Rock. A lot less touristic and full of local people climbing on top. The last part is quite hard to climb. Do wear proper shoes, no flip-flops!

Sunset or sunrise is the best time to hike. Always wear your shoes. You can find a local guide if you want. August and September are the best season to hike. Don't make loud noises and don't even think about to disturb the wasps!!!
