Came to the see the wild elephants and they were there in abundance! So many different birds too. Come at the right time we went at 3 or 4 pm as during the peak heat of the day the elephants would Der back in the forest. So either 6-8 am or 3 till late. We went to pinwalla to see the elephant sanctuary in the morning fed and bathed them then drove for a couple hours to see the wild elephants in the evening.

It is a great experience to watch wildlife though we were late but one must enter this place around 8 or 8:30 am. Tourist agencies and guides were wellbehabed. They let every tourist enjoy wild life. Soft spoken people of Sri Lanka made our entire tour a great experience. One of the best we arrange our tour with Global and best driver Sudam I need to share details but I have to find their business card.

We have seen many elephants. Also many jeeps. Elephants appear not be bothered by the Jeeps. We also saw two big males. Further on we saw eagles, monkeys and peacocks. Entrance fee is relatively high but worth it.

So many elephants! Magical experience! Jeeps were respectful and didn't chase elephants. They got close enough but not too close as to disturb them. We also saw some monkeys, an eagle and a peacock!

Absolutely amazing safari. There were about 55-65 elefants when we came, and the drivers are very friendly and stops frequently so you can take pictures. We went at 2pm and would definitely recommend to schedule trips around this time also. A trip is usually 2,5-3 hours where there Will be plenty of amazing views to appreciate.

BURSTING with elephants. Big herd of 40 or more with a dozen youths, perhaps 4 babies. Excellent adventure. Just enough potholes and mud for the 4wd safari vehicles to give an exciting ride, not enough to hurt. Also saw storks, egrets, swifts, water buffalo.

I was staying in Polonnaruwa and through my hostel did a jeep tour here to see the elephant gathering. I visited in late August which is a good time from what I gather. I saw a ton of elephants, more than the rest of my life combined. I wasn't the only one as there was a few dozen jeeps here but it all still worked out to have great views of the elephants while not really interfering with them. If you want to see lots of elephants I'd recommend a tour of here.

The best experience of our whole trip. Travel in to the forest and see all the animals in their natural habitat. Elephants galore. Fantastic. The guides know their jobs and know where to look. A bit bumpy but amazing all the same.

Fantastic adventure. There were a lot of wild life. But I don't recommend doing to go there late because what happened to us is that our friends in the second car fell in the wet dirt and then can't get out(video in description.). It was really funny :D. 5*

Fantastic day at the safari, saw a lot of elephants. Some were close up and some were from a far distance. Also saw a lot of other wildlife. It's a huge park and there was a lot to see. I was happy with the price and what we got as a result of this experience.

We got a good price from the sun guest house in polonnaruwa. Saw up to 30 elephants, eagles, lizards, buffalo, peacocks. The driver also dropped us off at our next accommodation for a very reasonable price.

Best place to watch large herd of elephants. Best time is pre north eastern monsoon. Lake half filled and land area is full of new grass shoots.

I really loved this place and got to see big herds of elephants in the wild. We had and excellent guide which stopped and showed us many different animals along the way. He was also very respectful of the elephants and kept a good distance to them. Some other drivers went to close so it was nice to see them being chased off by some larger male elephants.

Most visitors use jeep safari to explore the Kaudull National Park. There is a herd of jeeps coming to the NP every afternoon. The drivers, of course, know the usual places where the elephants and buffalo graze.

You are almost sure to meet animals on your trip. There are more animals in Kaudulla NP than in the Yala NP. We, for example, saw a herd of elephants with over 100 animals. Plus buffalos, monkeys, eagles and storks

You can watch the animals in their "natural habitant" means savana + 50 jeeps running around. This is more open-air ZOO than a national park. Pity.

Can see 100's of elephants. You can see both big ones and baby elephants and they have bath in the lake and it is nice to see all the activities of elephant there. Can watch this for hours with out boring.

Like Minneriya, Kaudulla offers a good chance of getting up close and personal with elephants. In October there are up to 250 elephants in the park, including herds of juvenile males. There are also leopards, fishing cats, sambar deer, endangered rusty spotted cats and sloth bears. The best time to visit is from January to March and, less reliably, May to June.

Well, we saw 4 elephants in total, but that really depends on the day. The nature is nice, there are a lot of birds and it's not packed with jeeps.

We really liked this park, it was not busy at all and we saw elephants at a safe distance. I would recommend this park if your sole mission is to see elephants, monkeys and native birds.
