It's a very welcome place for anyone visiting polonaruwa. We found the staff extremly courteous and friendly to us Srilankans! The cleanliness and the neat maintenance of the place was just excellent. The food served at the restaurant was super and awesome value for money. The juices we had with our food was freshly made and wholesome. My special congratulations to the management who inspite of most eateries and restaurants closed for the sinhala and Tamil new year made no attenpt to capitalise on the patrons visiting there restaurant for buffet punch which was very well layed out and cheap by standards of this city. Well done and a bouquet to the Hotel Mahanuge team!

We' ve just stopped by after visiting the ruines op Polonoruwa for a buffet lunch. It is a clean and nice airconditioned place where you can stop by to have a drink lunch or dinner. They serve traditional Sri Lankan food and it is really tasty and also fresh. We enjoyed our food here.

Great Hotel..very clean and comfortable.excellent food.great service.clean pool.comfortable and very clean room. Nice place to stay..Recommended to our friends.Manager and staff was very helpfull. Specialy need to thank manager and chef who organised our breakfirst early morning.all the very best.

My family and I visited Hotel Mahanuge for dinner. While the service was good, we were truly disappointed with the quality of the food. It certainly lacked value for money.

Food is tasty. But would prefer a better selection for the price. Need indoor hand wash facilities.
One star was deducted (out of 5) because they billed 150 for a water bottle that was marked MSRP LKR 65.

Delicious food, especially their set lunch for 750rs, lots of variety. Also the avocado juice was awesome. Although they tried to be inventive with ala carte items, suddenly 5 pieces of chicken with some rice were 1.200rs instead of 400rs as in the menu. Their reasoning, we ordered chicken with rice separately and not the rice with chicken as in the menu. Huh?

Excellent place for dine in. Friendly staff. High quality and hygienic food for reasonable rates. Highly recommended place for travelers (for both foreign and local ).
