Best stay in sri lanka, awsome service and best value for money. 5000rps double bed room, delicious dinner and breakfast with free refill, super view to the mountain, hot water, clean rooms. plus it's 30mn away from the worlds end by car.
Downside: the road to access the hotel is really bad, I could reach the hotel with a small size car but you might scratch your car (my rental car already had plenty of bumps so it was ok). That's the price to pay to be that deep in the forest.
WARNING: Do not take the road in between the hotel and bambarakanda falls (going towards the A4 highway) this is a trap only a tuktuk might go through. You have to come from the south road.
In doubt make a call and ask.
beautiful garden with gorgeous view and modern room. You can enjoy the view too during shower in the higher level room. 👍
Very lovely place and awesome hosts.. Road there is very rough and little so be careful, it's worth it
The best place to stay in Ohiya. Super meals and staff with a great attitude towards customer service.
What a beautiful hotel in Ohiya, Boralanda. Easily accessible to Horton Plains National Park, Devil's stair case trail and Ohiya hill. Hotel is at 4killo meters from Ohiya Railway station. There is another trail start from this hotel to Idalgashinna railway station. Good service. Nice staff. Difficult road to reach this. Hybrid and other cars can be reached with effort. 15km to highest waterfall of Sri Lanka.
Amazing place to stay with friendly staff, good food, clean and comfortable rooms and unbeatable views.
Beautiful and remote and well with the start. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with private outside seating areas. The views from the rooms are stunning, the valley filled with tea plantations and two now derelict tea processing factories. A short distance from Horton Plains, for those keen to start early they provide a breakfast box. Half board (this is truly remote!), dinner was simple and plentiful and most welcome after tramping up and down steep slopes. Plenty of space to stretch your legs, but there is no easy walk from here, lots of nature or steep tracks to explore. The road in is "exciting", very narrow and steep and twisty. Our tuktuk driver handled it with ease, but it fairly takes your breath away. Note, payments are cash only and there is no ATM locally.
Star grade Safari experience for low budget. Relax in wind.
Grate place to stay one or two nights. The view from the place, the weather and the nature is amazing. Highly recomended for family and friendly outing.
Nice place for a low budget trip near Ohiya. This place is isolated in a slope and difficult to reach, but has one of the best views a room can have. The rooms are clean and cozy, and the cold climate won't affect inside of the rooms. The food these guys provide is also excellent.
However, please negotiate the prices for food beforehand, specially if you need some packets to take along when go on a hike.
this location was blowing me away - mainly because of the sight, the friendly staff and the great food. we were taken care of from the moment we left the train the staff takes care of you without you even asking for it! fantastic athmosphere up in the mountains. I totally recommend the place!
ps - don't look for phone connectivity or WiFi 'cause there is none :) - so a true back to nature experience.
Spent an amazing night at here. Climate and environment is fabulous. Food stuffs & Rooms are nice. The road is the only obstacle to reach there. Recommended!
Best place around. Enjoyed the awesome food and the calmness in the atmosphere. Comfortable accommodations, and spacious.
Visited twice, and will definitely go there again. Highly recommended place.
We loved our stay at the Hill Safari. Even to get there in bikes through devil's staircase is already an adventure in itself but it is so worth it. The owner and all the staff members are friendly and you could easily stay there a week if you are into hiking and want to get a rest from the busy city life. Unfortunately we could only stay one night but we were lucky to get the suite with an amazing view over the valley. We started our next day ride from Hill safari to Horton plains park in the morning. It was an superb experience to bikers.
The Rice and Curry there is so tasty!! Beside that, it's a beautiful place to stay. And I would recommend doing the walk to World's End! Just be careful with all the Chines people there
