Came for a Medical Test. But it says to come to main office. Waited several hours since 5am. But the security officers not allowed us to seat in that area. We provide massive service to the government. It is just not a 8 hour work routine. Sometimes we provided our service 24 hours. It is sad to see that security officers not allowed to seat us. And it is really annoying that this is happened near to Director Office. Director of the hospital also a lady called Mrs.Malkanthi. But it is a shame lady your staff don’t know how to treat a girl. ( The lady standing next to security officer was a Matara Hospital Staff. And said that she was working around 12years in the Matara Hospital ) Shame 🤮

It’s just a worst feeling when the hospital security treats their patients and patient’s relations. Security is over acting. Like entering to a hell. I mean , in other countries , hospital security welcome us and then help us too. But here they are just like evils. I felt sad about those relations of patients yesterday including me. So this is SL.

Main hospital of the Matara.. But not the best! This hospital have a really bad reputation in srilankabut now its getting better day by day.its a lot cleaner than its used to more well organized by far for good. OPD is on point and do their best. They have the best public servants out there on the pay roll. Also they offer some good food for the patients. Usually a really busy hospital but it could take the responsibility of the patients. This hospital under some modifications these day, when you enter to the hispital you better ask from the receptionist on the left side of the main entrance of the hospital. Operation theaters are clean and doctors are really efficient on their work. They work 24/7 at their possitions. Visiting hours are due 6am to 7am , 12pm to 1pm and 5pm to 6pn in the evening. They offer free medicine for most of the patients accept for some occations since this is the government hospital. But the clinic hours are really busy and you might want to come early. Also there are some paid patients care servants there some are good and most of them are really really bad at their job and some might even try to steal patients stuff.

This is the main hospital in Matara District. Since Heath service are totally free in Sri Lanka even if you are foreigner you can have treatment for any diseases or injury free of charge. Because big numbers of patients some facilities my be limited some times specially in cause of long stay treatments. some times long ques. OPD service is operated 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. also you can get emergency vaccine for Rabies Virus (bitten by Dogs) 24 hours in emergency service.
