Nice stay. Not a local guesthouse but everything was beautiful and nice. Wifi is correct, hot shower. Room big and nice. Perfect breakfast.

Nice place but a let down. Advertised as a quite relaxing place but your right beside aside a road with traffic constantly going up and down with dogs always barking. No dinner is available and breakfast is very limited to fruit, toast and an egg. Also listed 24hr reception but is extremely hard to find staff. Think not enough attention is given to the running and setting up of French Lotus in terms of better breakfast, lunch and dinner as well and service. It is more focused on the other business which is that of a boutique. The WiFi broke while we stayed here and there was not really rush to see about getting it fixed, think this is bad if someone needed to organise flights and so on! Good points are it’s clean and rooms are nicely designed, within walking distance to the beach and local restaurants.

Really good food and very nice service (pleasant and smiling) but French manager is like a walking volcano. Seems to be nice but can scream at workers much to hard.
So 5 stars for service and food and -1 for manager that instruct working there girls in unpleasant way.response / report this review -

Recommend this place no doubt!!! Warm hearted hosts, really nice house and rooms with a super decoration - you see beautiful details everywhere giving you nice all around feelings - bed is soooo comfortable for good sleep. Not to mention the wonderful breakfast with self made bread and jam.

nous avons eu le plaisir de passer quelques jours dans cette magnifique maison d'hôtes à quelques pas de la plage d'Unawatuna, entourée d'un jardin luxuriant où il fait bon vivre. La chambre était impeccable,propre,spacieuse et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Nous avons adoré les petits-déjeuner accompagnés d'excellentes confitures maison de fruits et de jus frais avec toujours une attention quant à la présentationun régal servi par un personnel adorable, souriant et aux petits soins pour les hôtes. Un grand merci à Celyn et Guillaume pour votre chaleureux accueil, votre disponibilité et vos conseils pour les choses à faire et à voir à proximité.Une adresse à recommander les yeux fermés

Quaint oasis in the heart of the city. The space is owned by a very nice couple who were very easy to approach and talk to. The place was very cozy and all the flowers were a beautiful touch. Breakfast was number 1 - delicious with all the homemade goodness! Would definitely recommend French Lotus.
