Very pleasant hotel. Beautiful garden. Service is excellent. Food variety and quality are impressive. Staff is very helpful. Many choices of restaurants. In the common area, each night there is live bands or DJ's. The beach is very beautiful. Rooms are spacious and some of them have bathtubs on the balconies as well as sun beds.

One of the best beach resorts I have been. This is a great property run by Cinnamon hotels. The main plus point is the location of this hotel and the way this property has designed to get the maximum out of the location advantage. Our rooms were in 1st floor but had a superb scenery of the Indian ocean. The pool and the restaurant are placed in such a great way that you can enjoy beautiful scenery. The staff was really friendly and professional and they were provided a good service. The food in the main restaurant was up to the mark of a five star hotel. Live action stations were the key attraction for me in each buffet. One thing I didn't enjoy was the front office service in the check-in and check-out, I believe they should be more welcoming and try to make the guests more comfortable in both check-in and check-out. I would definitely visit this place again. Highly recommend.

Great place with a nice beach. Spacious rooms but little older looking. Great selection of foods. Staff is friendly. Nice garden, swimming pool. Can go boat rides to see fish and coral reef.

Fantastic experience. Loved the hotel, amazing location and facilities. The staff were warm and welcoming and we enjoyed every minute of the 6 days we spent at the resort. There is unbelievably cheap scuba diving centre on hotel site. Surfing on the adjacent beach. Snorkeling around the area was beautiful with tropical fish and coral reef. Buffet breakfast and dinner were great and very diverse. Spa a little on the expensive side but there are loads of super cheap spas just outside the hotel where you can get good standard treatments for really low prices. Would definitely return!

Great hotel by the shores of Hikka. Hospitable staff provides an efficient service. Excellent pool area which is ideal and safe for children to play around. Rooms are equipped with all the modern facilities and also provides a magnificent view of the ocean. I have visited here a few times and food has been great except for ones.
28/12/2017 - The hotel was facilitating 2 weddings on the same day and the lunch buffet was not up to the standards at all. Spread was minimal and the items were so low in quality taste. This was the worst buffet I've ever had in a hotel of cinnamon chain.
However I'd still provide a good rating due to the experiences I've had before. But I strongly believe that the management should ensure situations like what I explained above does not occur under any circumstances.response / report this review -

Visited on a day pass (3000 rupees -- good deal). The pass gives you access to grounds, pool and buffet lunch. The place is OK to visit for a day or night but not worth an extended stay from the perspective of an independent traveller from EU or North America. The place seems geared to families with (lots of) kids and package tours. The grounds are fine but tired looking. Pool is just OK -- not gleaming or inviting. Service is impersonal.

he Resort is set up on a beautiful Beach.
Entering the resort itself will give you the feeling, " I did make a right decision :) "
The check-in was quite smooth and appreciate the welcome at the reception.
The rooms are big and has a balcony with a sitting area and a small bed to relax.
The view from the 4th floor is amazing. You can see the ocean from top of the coconut trees & The swimming Pool and the Live shows, while relaxing in the Balcony.
The room had a King bed and one more single bed for an extra person. The linens were of the best quality and comfortable for a good nights sleep. Other Facilities like work desk, LCD TV, Mini Bar, Dressing Table were nicely laid out.
Bathrooms were a bit smaller compared to the rooms, but very Well Kept, Clean & Loaded with Toiletries & a hair dryer.
The in-house SPA is one of the best and almost booked fully in advance for the day. Was there for two days but din't get a change to experience it.
The restaurants serve a variety of dishes and the buffets have an excellent spread with more than you can eat Variety. Since i was booked on Breakfast only, Once I had the opportunity for the Buffet & other day left early for MIRISSA WHALE WATCHING & was arranged a good Packed breakfast of sandwich pastries,fruits, juices, Yoghurt & Cookies. The Proximity of the restaurant to the Beach makes it more desirable.
The Swimming Pool & The walk in the Landscaping are options other than, some evening fun on the Beach. The Private Beach of the Resort is lovely. Good for a swim, Splash or Tan. Also the Coast is visited by Giant Turtles, we were lucky there were 3 on that day. Some local will give you seaweed to feed the turtles for a small TIP. The Kids will enjoy all this maximum and is COMPULSARY :). The Evening Live Band on the POOL SIDE BAR is also worth a mention.
The staff provided with excellent services. Although the MINI BAR Usage con happened to me as well and was not paid by me after 20 mins. But i would still give them a good rating on other services.
The Hotel is on the EXPENSIVE side though i managed to book it online at a good price.
Stayed in November 2012 & will Definitely be there again on my next trip.response / report this review -

I stayed in Chaya Tranz on my visit to Sri Lanka sometime in November 2013. I must say that the friendliness of the staff right from the front desk to the restaurant is excellent. Good food, decent rooms and cool environment at affordable rate.
