Cantaloupe Aqua is not a very big hotel. It's a boutique style one. But the hotel is well themed and fashionable. It has a very nice view of Ocean from the rooms, lobby and infinity pool is amazing (Note that the pool is small). There is a private beach area and you can bath in the sea. Rooms are very new and it has a 5 star standard for sure. Breakfast was superb. They nicely presented the breakfast also. Staff also well trained and friendly. Only few cons; parking area is bit small. And not many retaurants nearby to have lunch or dinner ( if you need to go out).
Anyway don't have any doubts to book this hotel. We had a very nice stay here. I would say it's a very cute hotel at a great location. Perfect for relaxation, great views, infinity pool and beach experience.

We liked the staff and their professionalism and kindness. We were a bit disappointed about the room which was not at all up to standards, the walls were dirty, old furniture, the parquet flooring was broken, but the manager on duty was very helpful and changed our room and offered service recovery. The pool is a bit small, but the view is amazing.
The overall stay was good, the staff is very attentive to details and tried to accomodate all our needs like offering us a spa room to have shower after check-out, due to our late pick-up.

Been traveling in Sri Lanka for 20 days and half of the year in other countries, this is the definition of a high quality boutique hotel, a slam on all those wanna-be low quality but overpriced hotels around Sri Lanka who buy fake reviews and provide low level services and rooms with high price.

The place is small but delicate, modern and chic, even a little bit private, because they always close their Tiffany-colored(aqua color) front gate, if you ignore the size u might even feel like you are in W Hotel. The whole team is professional and kind. Around the hotel there is not too much and it's a little far away from Unawatuna town. A nice place to relax. A few little problems here and there, but it can be ignored if u r in a good mood.

    This place heals.

The hotel is situated right next to ocean, so the infinity pool overlooks the ocean and rocks. Pool is a little bit small and the tiles it uses is a tiny little bit ugly and old style not matching the whole vibe. If the ocean is not rough you have the access steps right into the ocean when it's high tide, if the ocean is at low tide you can have to access right on the beach I guess. Enough chair for you to relax, either on wood board or on their mini sand beach. The location is so well situated so you can see both sunrise and sunset.

If a hotel has a welcome drink that means the hotel still has hope to become better. I LIKE the way they serve their welcome drink, they cracked open king coconuts which was part of the decoration of the hotel and put the juice into champaign glasses.

I thought the menu there would be expensive but it's just the normal South Coast price.

Our room is Ultra Aqua Chic Suite, so beautifuuulll, both interior design and the view, it has a balcony and Jacuzzi facing the ocean, it feels like you are right above the ocean listening to the sound of the waves, but unfortunately the jacuzzi was broken, the mechanics couldn't make it until the next day.

When we had dinner they secretly put a fruit basket on our table as a gift.

The theme AQUA shows in the color selection, the view, the location and the sound you hear.

The place to relax, to have a drink in an infinity pool and to taste good food at dinner time. It might look expensive, but I think it's worth it. The employees are super friendly. It is not close to many things, you would need a ride to get to unawatuna where the shops and the restaurants take place.

A nice pool just at the store where we could see live crabs. We had kids with us and my son (1yr old) was fascinated with their stairs in the room. Hence, wr asked them to change our room and they did! Loved their eggs benedict. Nice and cosy.

Setting is stunning right next to the ocean. We loved watching the crabs from our room. Our room - Aqua chic was spacious with stunning view of ocean. To be able to hear the sound of the ocean and the waves crashing into the rocks right below the room was a special treat. We felt as though we were on the sea. The breakfast had three options and the sri lankan cuisine was good. Staff was friendly & helpful. We would definitely recommend this place especially if one would like to relax and be with nature. We will surely stay here the next time.

Nice venue, quite small and quiet, nice until kids start running around! Beds were ok.. bit uncomfortable and could feel the springs, water wasn't that clean (even after soap!) and no pressure in the shower. NO bathroom extras eg: shower cap, ear buds) they just refill the shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and moisturiser instead of replacing, bit unhygienic) Food was nice but my hubby didn't enjoy his as much. Ordered a dip platter one time and asked for some more bread and got charged for a whole other platter! Staff were nice but lady kept asking us to get a massage or facial all the time. Breakfast was a bit strange. Apparently they have cereal but don't state it on the menu. TV reception was very poor and Wifi always cut in and out. Nice place with tuk tuks right out the front. Traffic noisy from room especially in the mornings when trying to sleep and cleaning of the rooms gets started early so no sleep ins..! Unless you have earplugs.

Small but nice hotel. Great location facing the ocean. Rooms are nice and clean too. Friendly staff. There is no buffet and food is offered in set menus. Meals can be improved bit more.
