the rooms are quite nice, particularly the ones at the back and reasonably priced and the food is excellent and plentiful. The only thing that put me off it a bit was the tour of the rainforest. For what you get it appears to be way over priced. I paid 4,500 rupees and for that you get entrance to park, transport too and from the rainforest, a lunch box, a guide with good knowledge of the rainforest ecosystem and a swim at the waterfall, plus five or six leeches, maybe more. The thing is the entrance to the park is only 580 rupees; you can get a bus too and from the entrance for 70 rupees and when you get there, there are well delineated paths to the waterfall, mostly concrete. Admittedly the guide (who is the owner of the guesthouse) is very good at spotting stuff like lizards etc. But you do the figures and see if you think it is worth it. I didn’t.
Incidentally, you may wonder how i know how much the bus cost. well everybody on the tour was covered in leeches and i couldn’t be bothered waiting for them to free themselves of the filthy little blood suckers so i hoped on the first bus I saw and got back under my own steam. If interested, it is a 382.
After two weeks of exploring Sri Lanka we came to hike in the Sinharaja Forest Reserve. The Eco Villa offered us a comfortable and good place to sleep. Nice and clean. The hot shower was broken but fixed almost right away! Very good service.
The tour was 4500 LKR per person, quiet expensive if you ask me. Although the owner as a guide knew so much about the forest! Their was so much information he shared. We got to see three snakes and plenty of other wildlife.
Although their homecooked food is indeed a bit expensive, it was probably one of the best we ate in Sri Lanka. Value for money!
The breakfast was the one thing we didn't like. It was just one egg, white bread toast with butter and some fruits. Very dull. The Sri Lakan breakfast is way better and we expected this I guess.
I would recommend this place as the overal experience was pleasant.
Excellent tour guide for the sinharaja rainforest! Really recommendable!!!
Lovely place with lovely people. Warm hospitality. I have enjoyed the time there. Bandula is a very good guide. I really reccomend to go there and enjoy the beautiful rain forest with waterfalls.
We have got food for the trip which was unexpected but very nice gesture.
You can enjoy the nihgt at the cozy terrace.
We were very impressed by the family running this establishment catering to all our needs in a genuine fashion! We arrived late but the owner managed to get us a private guide organized so we could have a 8h hike in the rainforest which seemed a bit of a special request as most guests tend to go to the waterfalls only and not to the mountain top as well. We took a cheaper room and were happy with it. It's no 5star hotel so if you are looking for a AC resort environment, maybe this is not for you.
The prices are extremely reasonable and what we want to point out the most is the food!
The cultivate their own organic rice, honey and many veggies. The meals are all homemade, authentic and outright heavenly tasty. Best Sri Lankan food.
The owners English is outstanding and his knowledge of the surroundings is on point.
They seem to have a vision and we were very happy to support that.
Well, the place is cheap compared to other hotels nearby.you can buy a double room equipped with hot water between 3k -6k .
Rooms are bit old but neat and clean.
Mr.Bandula and rest of the team very much friendly and helpful.
P.S - Do not buy food from them, foods are really tasty but ,
For two vegetable soups they charged LKR 900.00 +10% ,which is way too expensive.
Even for 20 string hoppers, some dhal curry and Pol Sambol they charged LKR 750.00 + 10%.
THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF IF YOU EAT FROM THEM.
However their hospitality is quite appreciable.
This place is located very close to Deniyaya Town. Rooms are comfortable and room charges also cheaper but if you plan to take three meals and or other food it will be somewhat high comparing to room charges. Therefore you should bring some extra money for your meals. And also, there is no any restrictions for smoking at the room or out, thereforw, it will be a bad experience if you're a no smooker. However, overally place is good.
I came with gesti'am driver.but they are not thinking like that. ..they are thinking me also gestand god customers service.
Nothing much to acceptable. good clean rooms. value for money.
Nice place to stay clean and comfortable rooms. Specially the owner Bandula is a very nice person.
Nice
good
We were recommended this place by our driver.
We paid 5500 lkr for a fan double room with breakfast. Our room didn't have hot water, but some other room do have it.
The wifi router is probably in the owner home, so only the common area has reception, and even that - barely.
The breakfast was nice and the owner, Mr Bandula speaks excellent English.
The next morning we took a tour with him.
He is an excellent guide, but I think the tour is too expensive: we paid 4500lkr (including tickets) for each one of us (2 ppl) and we were joined by another couple which probably paid the same.
Nice place to stay and good guide for sinharaja
