  Not too bad a place for decent coffee. We ordered double shot Americano and Cinnamon tea. Quite good quality coffee but in a wrong cup. One should have a proper coffee in a proper cup with handle (not a normal glass as it gets too hot to hold). It's a basic thing to learn about coffee in this tea country. We also ordered Peking roll which is tasty; the plus. Overall, not too bad a place at this B&B.

  I had tacos at the tacocat in the same building. It was my first time trying out Mexican in Colombo and had no idea what to expect. I chose a nudie box with beef and all the sides available. It was fantastic, the ingredients were fresh, meat was tender, if anything was lacking it was perhaps the cheese; could be stronger. Great value for money as well, tacos are a thousand bucks and if you were to try classic tacos you'd get three tortillas and you could customise each so you'd get all flavours (chicken, beef, beans). Will definitely come back.

  I literally go to Black Cat everyday. It is my favourite cafe in Colombo with great coffee, food and service. Plus the relaxed atmosphere makes it pretty easy to kill hours there just sitting on the verandah, chilling out.

  Out of just the two vegetarian options they had, only one was available and I was notified about that after I finished ordering and when my friends meal was brought to the table!
  
  However the only option available was not at all good. It was called the "down payment" and had two slices of bread slathered in avocado and sprinkled with feta and some peppers. The poached egg was overcooked and all in all just didn't taste that good. It was quite bland.
  
  I also ordered a chocolate milkshake which was one of the worst I've ever had. Not enough chocolate and sugar; it just tasted of. Considering the prices of both things I ordered it was not at all worth it.

  Don't get the hype here. Presentation of dishes is nice. Hipster kind of feel to it. However the pricing is quite high for the quantity and not much of variety. What they have they make an effort for at least I guess.

  Located on a somewhat quiet, but at times busy, yet serene and elegant street in one of the more upscale neighbourhoods of Colombo, Black Cat Cafe takes the cafe ambiance and mixes it with just a smidgen of fine dining ambiance. The result is a wonderful mixture of elegant dining and yuppie cafe house aesthetics, making it an ideal location for diners of all ages (except maybe kids).
  
  We went to the Black Cat Cafe as it came highly recommended from multiple sources, and our experience was the same. The food was top notch, drinks were better than your average cafe with a barista, and the servings were just right to fill you up without making you sick. Absolutely recommend the Alaskan (a salmon sandwich type thing). While prices are a bit on the high end, the food is absolutely worth every penny.
  
  As it isn't the most busy place, they do allow you to get some work done or study inside while you fill up on their great food. And, as mentioned above, its aesthetic is just right for those looking for that perfect Instagram photo to go with their delicious food.
  
  It's an ideal place to get some work done during lunch or get some studying or revisions done if you're a student. Would recommend for solo meals, dates and friendly hangouts.

  Awesome little space with a great quirky menu. Salmon sandwich shown was delicious. Berry smoothie is refreshing and tasty. You will love their "black-board menu" which beautifully handwritten!

  This is a nice boutique restaurant for food. Very unique meals amd tasty. Polite efficient staff .
  
  Very calm place suitable for small groups not more than 5 . Limited parking is the only problem .
  
  Cost about 1,200/= per person without dessert

  Visited black cat cafe on a Sunday morning for their breakfast. The breakfast was OK, nothing to rave about! Especially since the price was 1300++ per meal. The cafe itself is beautiful and the staff are friendly. A friend has the smoked salmon and was satisfied with how that turned out. Maybe give the other options on their menu a chance.

  One of my favourite places to go to. Amazing coffee and food options. Extremely filling. The interior is pleasantly designed and service is too. Pet friendly on the outdoor seating areas. Inside is air conditioned. So try the biscuit pudding options and the imported soda range too. Yum!

  Wonderful staff, very accommodating and homely feel, as in, you feel at home. Several different rooms, well furnished (altho missing a TV), and close to many amenities and attractions. A little pricey for local standards, but wonderful for just a night or two or if you're traveling through. The cafe serves food and coffee that would rate as one of the best here, as good as the coffee in Melbourne, Australia! (that is a huge compliment)

  Greatest chill out, hide from the boss, get work done, plan your life kinda spot. Oh, and they clearly know coffee and how to properly serve it. Currently the best town! Food is simple yet diverse and just the right amount. Great ambiance and style and the boys are always warm and welcoming.

  its a simple place to go for a date or hangout for one or two people cos if there is more the unique of that place will b ruined cos of the place is quite n nicely decorated.
  Loved their blueberry rasperry milkshake n the lych mint iced tea which was making the jumbolaya and the sandwich the flavour of the drink was awesome with each texture.
