  My girlfriend and I visited Arugam Bay in June / July and stayed here at the Arugam Bay Surfing Resort. We had a wonderful experience, the accommodation was immaculate and homely. Our experience was only improved by the great man Asanka who cooked us a fantastic breakfast daily and offered us some traditional Sri Lankan food whenever he had lunch. In addition, he found us the lowest possible prices for transportation and really looked after us wherever he could. All thanks to Asanka and the Arugam Bay Surfing Resort i will be back again soon.

  I booked a room through Agoda, but when I arrived they told me no room was available. The hotel guy looked on drugs and wasn't helpful at all. The place doesn't look will looked after, definitely not like on the pictures anymore!

  There is a confusion. About Surf Resort. Surfing Resort. Water Edge. Hilton. Hilton. Etc. So one can't be sure which one this listing actually refers to. But certainty it is NOT "Mambo" or indeed "Bimbo"s !

  Located in a small fishing village of Arugam Bay, south of Pottuvil in the Ampara District, the beachfront resort offers private rooms with a bathroom. It is a few minutes’ walk from the popular surfing spot of Arugam Bay Point.
  
  Air-conditioned and equipped with a fan, rooms also come with a mosquito net and cable TV. Private bathroom includes a shower. Rooms on the upper floor have a balcony.
  
  Located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, Arugam Bay Surfing Resort is 5 km from Kumana Bird Sanctuary. Ella Railway Station is 90 km away while Colombo Banadaranaike International Airport is 315 km from the resort.
  
  Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi in its public areas and free private parking. The resort also provides a travel desk and organises surf tours. Other activities include diving and a jeep safari.
  
  Beach Side Restaurant overlooks the ocean and serves both Eastern and Western dishes. Mexican food is also available here. A bar offers liquors and cocktails.
